5 things to know about this eBook 1. This eBook is best read using Adobe Acrobat Reader 2. This eBook is a direct electronic representation of the physical book, therefore, it is not optimized for viewing on a computer screen. Youll need to scroll up and down to read the columns. We kept it this way to allow reference, to exact locations in all versions, when answering questions or addressing corrections. 3. The eBook page numbers may not match the PDF le page numbers. In print books, there are commonly a number of pages, at the front and back, that are not numbered or use Roman numerals. PDF les typically start by numbering the front cover page 1. All our references to pages in this eBook will assume the print page numbering. 4. This eBook has full page links over most of its pages. Clicking on a page will connect you to the Eagle-Research website (usually the Resources Section). Scroll using the sidebar. 5. This eBook was State of Art when it was initially published. Today it is still excellent basic information. However, as always, our technologies improve, and information becomes obsolete, faster than we can print, publish and circulate updates. EAGLE-RESEARCH MISSION
Eagle-Research is an organization that develops and distributes practical energy solutions. We define practical as simple, inexpensive, environmentally-considerate, easy to build, low maintenance and, applicable to small scale energy needs. We gather information from diverse sources, perform comprehensive experiments using rigorous standards, then publish how-to books to share the results with other researchers and the general public. We believe that writing books insures that these technologies will be secured public knowledge, and that our patent-free philosophy promotes increasingly better energy solutions. Eagle-Research does not accept government grants. The money from the sale of our books and devices is used to finance on-going research.

DISCLAIMER
This book is sold for research and/or experimental purposes only. Therefore the results, which will vary according to the users knowledge, expertiseand application should be considered strictly experimental. George Wiseman, his associates and/or distributors, assume no responsibility for damage or injury due to the readers use or misuse of information or instructions presented herein. Although care is taken to present accurate information: If we knew what would happen, it wouldnt be an experiment. Therefore, the author will not retroactively inform or reimburse buyers if (when) there are corrections or updates to this book. Contact Eagle-Research for the latest developments. If the conditions outlined in the proceeding paragraphs are not acceptable, the buyer will return the book immediately to the seller, for a full refund.

WORK IN PROGRESS
Eagle-Research is a research and development organization dedicated to finding the best possible energy solutions. Because the nature of research and development is an evolving process, we are continually improving on the technologies we are working with. Though were proud of our commitment to constant and never-ending improvement, we do recognize there is an unfortunate side-effect: Our best today will pale in comparison to our best tomorrow. At any given date, the Eagle-Research discoveries, which are distributed in the form of web information; books; videos or devices, are at varying stages of development. Therefore, by the time our most up-to-date best can be compiled, organized, produced & distributed, weve already improved upon the information. Were working as fast as we can.

EAGLE-RESEARCH ADVOCATES PATENT-FREE TECHNOLOGY

I differ from most inventors in many ways. For one, I actually make my living and finance continued research by inventing. Two, I dont hold-back secrets of my innovations. Three, I do not patent my work. It is distributed worldwide as public knowledge, so no one else can patent it either. Actually, the patent office is very inefficient and people have gotten patents on my technology... usually to fraud investors. However, the patent is worthless. Patent law states public domain information is not patentable.

FINANCING OUR RESEARCH

As more work and research gets done, we will write further books in each of our lines of research. By writing a series of books in this manner, we can keep you updated on the latest information on energy saving research. Selling information is how we make money to continue our research. Therefore, you will not do yourself or your friends a favour if you copy this book to distribute to your friends. In doing so, you deprive us of funds to advance the research that will help us all.

INTRODUCTION
The main objective of this book is to reduce the costs of driving by decreasing the associated expenses. For most people, the first thing that comes to mind is finding ways to combat the already high and often rising cost of fuel. Great idea, but by no means the whole picture. To really get your moneys worth from this book; from your reading time; experimenting with the options, and building or further developing the plans, you need to broaden your perspective of the costs of a vehicle, including but not limited to the fuel. First, you must determine if you even need a vehicle. To figure this out you have to weigh the social and economic value of owning an automobile. (see sidebar) For those who must have an automobile, and there are many who do, this book is filled with a wide variety of Super Gas Saver Secrets. Well cover everything from fuelefficient driving habits to mechanical fitness. There are projects for skilled do-it-yourselfers and scope enough for inventive types. Work through the book in succession from simple and conventional to the more complex and unconventional. Try to avoid the temptation to skip or gloss over the early material. Being a skilled driver doesnt automatically predispose you to having good fuelsaving habits. Benefitting from fuelsaving technology begins with an attitude adjustment and evolves to mechanical modifications. Going through the whole process will yield the greatest tangible results. You likely have a range of reasons for wanting to save fuel all of

them sound and compelling. The most powerfully motivating, however, is the bottom line. Less cash out of pocket, on fuel costs for your home and your vehicle(s), translates directly to your amount of disposable income and quality of life. Think of it this way: Your standard of living is instantly elevated when you need less time and money to maintain what you have. Further, the disciplined acts of altering your driving habits, maintaining your vehicle and carrying out periodic mileage calculations will keep hundreds, possibly thousands, of dollars a year in your pocket. Less expense combined with more dollars elevates your lifestyle even more. If you are trying to build a gas saver of your own, it is our pleasure to help you make it work. Eagle-Research has been doing this since 1984. Weve helped tens of thousands of people and thousands of people have helped us. It is to our advantage to help you too. That way, we know what you've done and don't need to repeat your experiments or your mistakes. Your input can often confirm something that has already been tried. It is to your advantage to contact us. You may be doing something that someone else has already done, better. You may think of something no one else has, and together, with other ideas, you may just help make a leap in the technology. This way everyone helps everyone else and the technologies develop to practical applications very quickly. The other goal of the book is to educate the individual about the truth, viability and power of combustion enhancement technology in the hands of concerned citizens.

Do You Really Need A Car?

In today's society it is often hard to get a job or to fully participate in ones community if you don't have a vehicle. But do you really need that vehicle? Is it worth the investment, maintenance, insurance and hassle? Really think about this. Quite a few people own a vehicle who would be financially and physically better off without it. Take the time to figure out what your vehicle is really costing you. For most of us, a vehicle represents the second largest investment we will ever make. hidden costs When a person invests in a vehicle, there are many 'hidden costs'. Not the least of which is the investment money itself. When you consider financing charges, interest and taxes, people who buy new vehicles can pay up to 6 times the purchase price of the vehicle. As a rule of thumb, spending $5000 on a vehicle, means needing to earn over $10,000 in wages. A large portion of most people's wages goes to taxes; worker's compensation plans; unemployment plans and various security plans. Don't forget that the 'employer' share of these plans counts as part of the employee wage benefits (taxes). If the employer didn't have to pay his portion, he could pay the employee a higher wage. And don't forget the costs of being employed: you need to travel; have special clothes; lunches outside the home... The math is startling: Because of the way interest rates work, you can pay the bank up to three times the value of the original loan. So, to buy a new vehicle you pay 3 dollars to the bank for every 1 dollar you spend on the vehicle. You needed to earn 2 dollars for every 1 dollar paid to the bank. So each dollar spent on the original purchase cost of the vehicle cost 6 dollars of earned money!

CONVENTIONAL WAYS TO SAVE GAS

Driving Habits
Your driving attitudes and habits could be costing you a lot more money than you realize.
continued from pg. 1 maintenance costs Another hidden cost is maintenance. If you decide to own a vehicle you must lower the various costs of its maintenance. If your vehicle lasts longer, it will cost you less per mile to drive. Your initial investment is spread out over a longer period. The least expensive maintenance is a do-it-yourself course. Be sure your course includes instruction on doing a proper safety-check of vehicles. Even if you don't have the tools to do a full safety check at home, there is a lot you can check, often as you drive. A very modest investment in tools will reap great rewards. It could even save your life! Even if you don't check, adjust or repair your own vehicle, having taken a simple mechanical course, you will know what needs doing. Millions of people are taken advantage of to the tune of billions of dollars every year and don't even know it. Your share of this hidden cost could be hundreds or thousands of dollars. Remember, for every dollar you spend, you had to earn $2. If you choose not to maintain your vehicle, it will fail you when you need it. It is a sad but true fact that a vehicle will fail, most often, precisely when you need it. If you must have a vehicle, learn how to maintain it. It will be one of your best investments. A vehicle that is maintained properly will give faithful service for decades. It will also have a higher resale value. Rule of Thumb: Take as much time learning to maintain your vehicle as it took to learn to drive it.

warm-up Warm up your engine just enough that it doesn't try to stall as you operate it. Stalling is hard on the engine and dangerous in traffic. At the same time, avoid prolonged warm-up of your engine. Even on cold mornings 2 minutes is plenty. The sooner you get moving, the more mpg you make. Warming-up is the most efficient way. Just move the vehicle slowly at first. idle If forced to sit for some time (traffic jam; road construction...), shut your engine off. Anytime you are stopped, with the engine running, you are making zero miles per gallon. Idling for one minute consumes enough gas for you to have started your warm engine. Excessive idling causes the engine to carbon-up faster because of the rich fuel mixture and cooler operation temperatures. Carbon buildup causes pre-ignition; detonation; poor heat conduction for valves and cylinders; and abrasive carbon particles. Water injection helps to prevent carbon buildup. lead foot / feather foot Accelerate smoothly and gently. This allows fuel systems to function at closer-to-correct fuel ratios. Accelerate slowly to allow the most efficient conversion of the fuel's energy to the vehicle's momentum. Diesel-electric trains have computer controlled acceleration. They get 900 miles per gallon, per ton! Learn to lift your foot a bit as you drive. Mostly, you won't lose any speed and you will get better mileage. shifting Shift properly, to keep the engine in optimum operating range, and

Whether you own, lease, or periodically rent a vehicle, sharpening your driving skills to include sound fuel-saving habits is a wise investment. The payback is directly to your own pocket. As you read through the list of Driving Habits, consider that each of these simple and conventional ways to save gas, will earn you 3%-15% in direct cash savings or by taking you farther on a tank of gas. Are your driving habits costing you Big bucks? You do the math! Working in pencil, give yourself an honest checkmark for each of the tips that you already use. At the end of Driving Habits, count up all your empty boxes, and multiply that number by just 3%. If you only need to brush up on a dozen of these fuelsaving habits, thats:

$75 to $150 each year!!!

And, at this point were only talkin about giving yourself a check-up from the neck up! A little effort, a little grit and even just a few of the mechanical modifications from this book and You could be getting double the mileage that you started with.

increase mileage. A tachometer and an intake manifold vacuum-gauge are definite assets. Keep the tachometer in the engines optimum range and shift as necessary. Keep the vacuum gauge reading as high as possible to maximize fuel economy. automatic transmission If the engine lugs down and your automatic transmission hasn't shifted, shift it manually. Then get it fixed. With an automatic transmission, use your brake instead of the throttle to hold yourself still on a hill. This is the best use of a brake. No wear on the brakes and no work on the transmission. brakes Brakes throw away your cars energy by converting inertia to heat. Good drivers seldom have to apply them. Slow down before having to use the brakes. Drive steadily. Slowing down and speeding up wastes fuel. By the time you've used a set of brake pads, youve thrown away thousands of horsepower. Resting a foot on the brake pedal when the vehicle is in motion causes excessive wear on parts as well as poor mileage. Front disk brakes can rob you of 2 or 3 mpg if mounted on all wheels. time the lights Time stoplights to allow for driving right through. Don't rush up to a stoplight/stop sign, then slam on the brakes. Every time you apply the brakes you waste the energy that you spent getting you up to that speed. disk brakes If you have front disk brakes, sway the vehicle once to the left and once to the right, after having forcefully applied your brakes. This will fully release the slight drag that results.

Disk brakes don't have return springs that retract the pads when you take your foot off the brake. Sway the vehicle, only when it is safe to do so, and only if you will be driving some distance between braking. drive at a steady rate Stay in the flow of the traffic. Erratic driving speeds and frequent lane changes don't get you there any faster and are really costly in fuel, vehicle wear and road-rage. Cruise control will usually increase mileage by preventing most drivers tendency to surge. However, a skilled driver can actually exceed the benefits of cruise control. Keep a steady foot and anticipate road conditions, thereby driving at optimum speeds for the conditions. unsafe methods of saving fuel Neutral overdrive is an extremely dangerous procedure with most vehicles. You may not be able to put the vehicle back into gear fast enough when you need to. The possibility of blowing up clutches & transmissions is very high. Besides, youre still using fuel - the engine is idling. Shutting off the ignition while coasting is dangerous because the float bowl will empty into your engine. It takes a few seconds, after the fuel is turned back on, for the float bowl to refill and for the fuel to reach your engine. You may need power sooner than that to avoid an accident. If you take the vehicle out of gear at this time, the wheels will stop driving the engine. The engine will stall, usually causing a loss in power accessories such as steering and brakes. Shutting off the ignition and leaving the vehicle in gear to coast down hill doesnt affect the power accessories, because the rear wheels keep the engine turning over. But the

insurance costs Then there are insurance costs and fees. It is not wise to drive without insurance. This hidden cost is ruining people's financial futures, every day. If you have an accident, you could end up paying, for the rest of your life. The collective financial, emotional and probable physical stress of an accident amounts to incredible proportions. Already, more US citizens have died as a result of automobiles than have died in all the Wars that the US has fought. It is true that a person without an automobile lacks some advantages in our society. But are the advantages worth the cost? The time that some people would save by not having to work those extra hours (to have the money to buy and maintain their vehicle) could be invested in other pleasant activities.

Does your vehicle fit your lifestyle? Can you rent or borrow a larger vehicle when you need to and drive a smaller one for common trips? Are you paying for a lot of horsepower that you never use? Having a large, underworked, engine costs you in fuel as well as possible premature failure of the engine. Can you take advantage of public transportation and, will that option save you money? Can you make use of bicycles, scooters or even walking to save fuel and vehicle costs?

Dear Alternative and Sustainable Energy Enthusiast, Im a full time self-employed inventor. I research things that interest me, for use in my own life. The plans I sell are not just some armchair theorist brainstorming (though I usually start a project that way). I build the projects and make them work. They need to (and do) work because I use them myself. I develop them, redesign them, refine them and once Ive figured out how to DO IT in the most practical way I can... I DO NOT PATENT! I write a book; the books allow me to 1. Help (teach) a LOT of people AND 2. Bring in the money I need to pay bills and fund further research. 3. Make sure the technology is not lost if/when the Vested Interest finally shuts me down. Ive been a self-employed inventor since 1986 (started Eagle-Research in 1984). I (and thus Eagle-Research) am ENTIRELY SELF FUNDED, literally from satisfied customers. I do not accept Government grants or any money from anywhere that has any strings attached. Selling these books is how I fund research worth millions of dollars (and bypassVested Interest Suppression). Most of the money I make and years of my time go into to developing (and upgrading) innovations. Innovations that you can now know for the price of a book. This is why, when people copy and/or give away my books, they hurt 1. Me (copyright violation and loss of income), 2. YOU (you are denied technology upgrades on technology youve purchased), 3. All of society (everyone is denied practical innovation choices that could have been) On Scribd.com, otherwise well-meaning and enthusiastic people uploaded my books, which were downloaded (for free) over 10,000 times. That could have financed my Gravity Machine or an improved Free Energy Accumulator... To help enthusiastic people spread the word LEGALLY, weve started an affiliate program. As an affiliate, you will get PAID when you refer people to us and they buy any of our products. By now youve likely realized that most of this books pages are not included in this free preview. The ER website automatically logs off users that have been inactive for a period of time (it's part of the security protocol). Most web browsers 'cache' viewed pages. So it may look like you are logged in because you are looking at a page that was cached in your browser when you were logged in, but in reality you are no longer logged in and thus get 'access denied' error messages. Speed tip: stay logged out unless you need to be using one of your user privileges. The website caches the 'general public' pages for quick viewing by anyone but has to build a 'custom' page each time for logged in users. So when you are logged in, the pages will take longer to load. ----------------------------FORGOT YOUR eSTORE PASSCODE? Request a password reset from the the eStore. WHO IS GEORGE WISEMAN

George Wiseman is the founder and president of Eagle-Research, a non-profit organization that develops and distributes energy-saving solutions. He is multi-talented and multi-degreed, but singular in his mission: to promote self-sufficiency at the individual level by discovering and sharing the best, all-around, practical solutions. George attributes his self-reliance, resourcefulness and commitment to our natural environment, to his rural roots. Dad didnt believe in having any equipment on the place (hobby farms in Montana, Oregon, Alaska and finally a ranch in British Columbia) that we couldnt fix ourselves. We had running water if we ran and got it. And electricity was something that came in batteries. His farmgrown, western cowboy philosophy combine well with his inventor persona to create a world-class visionary. He takes the hand-up rather than the hand-out approach to everything. Since 1984, George has been making his living as an inventor and author. His fuel-savers have gained him a worldwide following of satisfied consumers who eagerly pursue his work for new offerings. George continues to impress his customers, peers and competition with practical innovations that can be successfully home-built. His latest product, the ERxxxx WaterTorch, is making great waves in dozens of industries around the globe. As much as anything, its his commitment to patentfree technology development that has earned George Wiseman a champion reputation. Openly sharing research findings benefits everyone by constantly elevating the standards of viable energy solutions. Georges work has been featured on radio and in newspapers around North America and at many alternative energy gatherings including the International Tesla Society Symposiums and Exotic Research Conferences. He lives with his bride, Tenaj, and their brood of cats, in a lush valley of the Rocky Mountains. Individuals wishing to participate in the project may access the required reading list, that will be updated from time-to-time, on the Eagle-Research website: (www.eagle-research.com) Comments and/or contributions are invited from anyone who is committed to cultivating dream seeds. Nay-sayers are better not to waste their time. Negative input will be wholeheartedly disregarded.

Too low they build, who build beneath the stars. - Edward Young -

Fuel Pressure Regulator (mfg)

A fuel- pressure regulator tends to reduce fuel loss due to inlet surge and splash in the float bowl. You will get some mileage gain. Regulators may restrict fuel flow in high demand situations. There are vacuum controlled regulators that dont have this problem. Fuel pumps provide more pressure than the carburetor needs because fuel under pressure wont vapor lock as easily. However, your carburetor probably only needs 3 psi or less. Since most inlet needle valves leak, lower pressure helps control the fuel flow into the carburetor. Install the pressure regulator as close to the carburetor as possible. Available at your local auto supply store. (see resources) This is also a recommended device for Carburetor Enhancer installation. Always install a fuel filter before a fuel pressure regulator. Try a diesel fuel filter. They do a much better job. Carry a spare in case it gets dirty enough to cause performance problems.
