Its comfortable and concerts are usually hot. Its not something youll get sweaty in. Its cute with the necklace. The fringe is also something fun and different.
This outfit to me is the epitome of summer chic. Everything from the collared shirt to the chambray shorts to the comfy shoes, its all about effortless cool.
HOT HIPPIE
Love blue, and stripes make you look more muscular/fit than you actually are. I grew up on the coast so Im most comfortable with the least amount of clothing.
SIMPLE SWAG
The dress is cute, but casual. It serves its purpose for a concert, but its still nice for a day out.

SXSW STYLE!
I love the sequins. The one-arm sleeve makes it elegant. If you want to go more glamorous for a concert, its still comfortable.
SASSY SPARKLE
DARINGLY DIFFERENT
If I get the chance to wear things that draw attention to myself, then I will. This harness pushes the boundaries and the looks I get from people while wearing it are hilarious. I tried to remove a lot of the sexual elements by layering it over an outfit that covers my full body.
I like the color contrast, and the use of bold colors goes with the theme of SXSW. The leather gives it an edgy vibe.
I love the jacket and boots combo. Ill wear them separately or together and I always feel like a badass. This is one of my favorite shirts, and Im obsessed with plaid.

Of course Id buy my mom a NICE house. I know its clich but whatever. After, Id buy a Mercedes G wagon for myself and a CLS for my guardian. Also I would to invest in media and the jewelry industry (since rappers love it so much).
Three essentials for a show away from home?
Toothbrush to stay fresh, a bible to stay blessed, and my iPhone. (During the show I may get a tweet, text or aspecial message from a lady friend haha)
One chain, two chainz or no chainz?
A chain of Canes chicken restaurants. I really do enjoy chicken. If Rick Ross has Wing top, why cant I own some Canes?
Are there any limits to what you would rap about?
Not really, its just whatever inspires me at the moment. Im more about be entertaining and high energy. Just the other day I made a song that involves me having dinner with a mixed girl on the beach if you know what Im talking about, ha.
What inspires you the most?
Pain, and thats not necessarily a bad thing. Pain has helped me make some of my happiest songs. I feel for the downtrodden. Thats why I work hard to create a better future for all.
What is your greatest achievement thus far?
Well I almost got 6 million hits on Worldstar for my video Come up. Ive shot videos in Chicago, NYC, Atlantic City, Miami, and London. Ive performed at festivals. But I think the greatest accomplishment is just getting recognition from the fans for what I do, and seeing the smiles on peoples faces when I perform. Oh yea, and being on Study Breaks! Thats a major one.
Famous artist you/your music is comparable to?
Well thats actually cool because we actually just bought a bunch of CDs for our van: Papa John Misty, Sarah Jaffe, Metronomy Weve been listening a lot to the band were on tour with, Kopecky Family Band. I listen to a lot of pop radioI get my fill of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga and shit like that. I know every song out there, you know? We love KeshaMe and my girlfriend are very huge Kesha fans.
Being from Austin, how does playing there compare to playing shows in other cities?

we werent gonna be able to get in. We used the printers in McGarrah Jessee and looked to see what color wristbands they gave the VIPs. So we printed out paper, [made wristbands] and spray painted them gold, and just walked out on the rooftop and got free drinks all night. It was Grimes, Subtract and A$AP Rocky.
What is it like playing SXSW?
Id say Kanye. My first legit mixtape/album was called Aesthetics of an A$$hole, so I guess its fitting. Also College Dropout is my favorite CD of all timeAll time. *Kanye shrug*
Austin is not, I would say, in our top 10 list of places where people are into brand new stuff. [Theres a] follow-the-leader mentality. And if you gain national popularity, you do well in Austin. We play a lot of college cities, but college is one of those places where if college kids dont know about you already, its gonna be hard.
What was the best show you saw at SXSW last year?
At the top of McGarrah Jessee, msn or something like thatMicrosoftwas running a party up there, a really huge party, and we knew
I think this is a very big year for uswere not playing in the little leagues, playing a bunch of crap little shows for Lonestar beer where nobodys at. This is the real deal for us. Its pressure but its a lot of excitement. The other thing is you play all these shows and its crazy and you dont even know how its gonna pan out til May or June, if anything is even worth anything. You just have to enjoy it and hope that someone sees your face. I like being aggressive, I like playing no-huddle offense, just doing it. Playing as good as I possibly can and executing consistently. Your tagline is Dirty Shinecan you explain what exactly that means?
Dirty Shine is just kind of something I came up with that means embracing your authentic selfwhatever it is, whoever you are.
How would you describe your sound?
Its one of the harder questions for me, but if I was gonna explain it, I would say back porch blues meets hip hop. I love hip hop beats and I love the stories of Nas and Jay-Z and getting out of where they were and making more of their lives and I really connected to that.

inehouse,
Our music, especially the first record, its a hybrid. Its a lot of influences put together, and then its obviously soul music, Motown influence in there, indie influence, indie rock and hip hopand its all mixed together in a blender makes you want to dance.
Weve had some crazies weve had to have carried off. When youre touching someone in a deep emotional, personal way and they happen to be a little cuckoo, it gets a little strange. Flatteringwith a bodyguard.

Have you had any crazy tour experiences?
That was very early days and that was one of the magic moments that happened at the beginning.Adam, who apparently hates everything, fell in love with our band. All the sudden we went to opening up for them. It was a big break and they were super nice.

They can expect to be called out if they got their arms crossed and theyre sitting down, thats for sure. Theres nothing pretentious about this bandwe dont think were too cool for school; we want people to let their hair down and have fun with us.
I think its a very dynamic showtheres moments where you wanna stand up and dance and there are some more kind of intimate momentswhere its just me and my guitar. What they can expect most is just a great energyan energy thats contagious.
How would you explain your music to someone whos never heard it before?
Its so hard. We love classic rock, but we also lovewe grew up in the 90sso we love like Aaliyah and Destinys Child, but really its an agglomeration of what we grew up with90s with a classic twist.
Youre nominated for multiple NME (New Music Express) awards. Were you surprised?
fans, and just the fact that he heard our name and repeated it is a life changer. Literally, I can die happy now.
How was playing support shows for Mumford and Sons and Florence + The Machine?
We got nominated for four! I got nominated for Best Twitter, which was insane to me! I literally cried! I literally just tweet about puppies and nail polish, those are my favorite things to tweet about in the world. Thats all I do all day.
When you were nominated for your NMEs, Mick Jagger responded with: Haim? Never heard of them. What did you think about that?
I mean we were so excitedMick Jagger SAID our band name. We are the biggest Rolling Stones
They were both so amazing and so different. With Mumford we were playing these festivals, and it was like every Friday we would get to a random city in the United States, and we would all get there on Friday and party our asses off. There were nine bands and Mumford always scheduled a party. It was the craziest thing; it was like summer camp. Then we would all play shows on Saturday and party Saturday night and leave on Sunday and wait to see each other next Friday. And then Florence was insaneall the sudden we were playing with Florence which is like 20,000 peopleI was like shitting myself, I was so nervous.

Of course you cant afford the movies or Netflix. For a cheaper price, you get the same thing, but with a bonus. Shaky camera work and an audience thats right there with you! Priceless.
Road Trip
Time to hit the roadand end up in some creepy town thats cheap and totally Chainsaw Massacre-chic. Sure, its a horror movie in the making, but itll be a great story for the grandkids!

TOTAL FRAT MOVE
Percila Richardson
Age: 19 Height: 58 School: University of Georgia Major: Psychology Relationship Status: Single One thing that impresses you when youre out on a date? When they have a good sense of humor and can constantly keep me laughing. Whats the creepiest move a guy has ever tried to pull on you? On spring break one of my sisters and I asked a guy we just met what fraternity he was in and he responded with, None, Im a rapist. What are your plans after Graduation? Go to grad school and travel the world. All-time favorite TFM or TSM? I will stop drinking when Captain Morgan puts his foot down. TFM.

Steal their phone and snapchat pictures of feet to everyone Because no one wants to be known as the guy whos into feet stuff. Fill their room with telephone book paper Take all the house telephone books, rip out and crumple every page and throw them into your brothers room to create a mountain of paper and a laborious pledge task. Board up their room Grab a drill and some two by fours and turn their room into a prison. Especially hilarious during finals week. Indoor fireworks Ever thrown firecrackers at someone while they puked their balls up? Well its really fun. Bury them in furniture when theyre passed out. Because he deserves to be punished for passing out early. Spray your brother with a fire extinguisher Its lazy, sure. But its also hilarious. Draw a huge dick on his back Maybe he passed out the night before a float trip, maybe you guys are hitting the pool the next day. Either way, he wont know about this until its way too late. Perfectly rearrange his room on the lawn or roof So much effort goes into this that he wont be able to be madmaybe. Bonus points if you plug everything in. Military Grade Weaponry Rolling a smoke grenade into your brothers room as hes getting with a 4 is a great way to save him from the next mornings shame. Cover the passed out guy in sunless tanner Forget sharpies, sunless tanner isnt getting washed off any time soon. His life might be miserable for a week or two.
