Miss City of Roses Royalty Pageant 2013-2014

Guidelines:Candidates must be active in the Portland Native community and at local Powwows
Candidates must be single with NO dependents.
Candidates for Miss City of Roses must be age 16 to 20.
These age requirements must be met by May 24th .
1. You must have a responsible Adult Sponsor who will be able to help you attend designated organizational meetings,
activities, parades, fundraisers and scheduled appearances, unless a written request is submitted to the Royalty Coordinator
and the absence is excused in advance.
2. You are expected to attend Bow and Arrow Culture Club and travel to Royalty events regular.
3. You must be Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco free; any misconduct will result in disqualification from the Court.
4. If at any time you become pregnant, you will be disqualified from the court.
5. You are required to have complete regalia (Traditional, Fancy or Jingle).
6. You must have the willingness to dance at ALL Pow-Wows and cooperate in ALL Scheduled events. (assistance with
dance instructions will be available, if needed)
7. You must be willing to speak in public.
8. You must be willing, by your behavior, to represent Bow and Arrow Culture Club in the best possible manner.
9. You are expected to be active in ticket sales while promoting the Delta Park Pow Wow.
11. You are expected to show good judgment and not participate in activities that would bring adverse publicity to yourself
or to Bow and Arrow Culture Club and or Delta Park Pow Wow while you are a member of the court. This includes social
media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
12. When attending a scheduled function, all royalty will be in appropriate attire/regalia. Traditional or Modern. The
following is NOT considered appropriate attire; miniskirts, bare mid-drifts, low cut shirts and heavy make-up. If you
have visible body piercings (other than ears), they are to be removed while attending functions. If you have visible tattoos,
they should be covered while attending functions as well.
13. Consequences for misconduct will include but not be limited to Verbal Warnings, Written Warnings, Reduction or
Suspension of mileage reimbursement for 3 events, reduction or suspension of Out-of-State Travel paid for, Parent,
Sponsor or Royalty Court Member giving a verbal or written apology, and in severe cases, removal of title and crown
permanently. The Royalty Advisors and Pow-Wow Committee reserve the right to discuss and administer discipline
depending on severity.
14. The above guidelines apply to each candidate. If not honored you will be disqualified from the court and forfeit any title
won.
15. There may be other requirements not mentioned in these guidelines. If other requirements are imposed on the court, you
will be notified in advance and will be required to follow them.
16. You are expected to be dresses accordingly, polished, hair braided, and be on time to all royalty training classes.
