Section 1 provides that an application for a Minnesota identification card, an enhanced identification card, an instruction permit, a provisional license, a drivers license, or for an enhanced drivers license must contain a space where the applicant must attest to a residence address in Minnesota. The section defines government identification card in paragraph (d) to include an official government identification used by a country other than the United States, that contains name, date of birth, identifying photograph, a unique identification number, and security features. Section 2 repeals a part of Minnesota Rules that provides the means by which an applicant must provide proof of residency, lawful presence, and status check information. This act is effective January 1, 2014. BB/KB:rer
