Aim of the project

Our project has to take care of all the transactions carried out the depot, here it is required to design a suitable database to manage all the records ,an easy to use interface with all validation rules needs to be designed. Depot manger should have more privileges on database he should be allowed to monitor all the activities and a facility to create new users with restricted privileges. A centralized database has to be developed to monitor the transactions of more depots , each depot activities have to be managed and divisional manger should be able to view all depots activities.

Existing System
K.S.R.T.C is a government organization which provides transport services to publics at affordable rate. Depot is a place where all the buses belonging to that region get managed and maintained. Here the details of the bus such as its route, fuel being filled, spares etc are maintained by means of ledgers, the daily revenue collected by the each bus is also maintained along with this the driver and conductors who works in each route is also managed. A depot is headed by depot manager whose job is to take care of all the activities carried out at the depot.

Proposed System

Two or more depots will come under a division.

Working

It is web application software to manage the transactions carried out at the depot.

Here we create different types of users with varying privileges We take care of bus details, revenue colletected,fuel details etc A division manager could monitor all the activities.

Coding Language: Java Script, HTML, CSS.

Webserver: Apache.

Platform: Windows.

Database: MySql.

Server side scripting language: PHP

Hardware requirements
Any personal computer with normal configuration

Using this web application software following tasks could be done

It is possible to manage the employee details according to each depot Each depot vehicles details could be collected at the admin side Revenue collection and maintenance is improved Since it is a distributed application useful to Divisional manager to control and coordinate the various activities of each depot

Advantages
Division Manager can access the details of any depot that comes under his division. All the authorized person have rights to use the application according to their designation. Day to day report can be generated depending on the requirement.

Disadvantages
More care should be taken to resolve security issues.

Conclusion
Computerized N.E.K.R.T.C Bus Depot Management System is the real time application. The system designed will be intelligent for interaction and will suitably provide a good response to the authorized person who will access it. It will be truly a responsible system for managing the depot.
