Aumkaaram bindu sanyuktam Nityam dhyaayanti yoginah, Kaamadam mokshadam chaiva Aumkaaraaya namo namah.

Meaning: The yogis always meditate upon the Aumkaar with the bindu.We bow down to the Aumkaara(Eternal one) who grants our desires and gives us liberation. Aum is the sound symbol of God.The Bindu represented by the individualized Jiva Atma,is united with the Universal paramatma represented by the formless Aum.The yogis contemplate on this eternal relationship.
Lord Vishnu: Achyutham Kesavam Rama-Narayanam Krishna-Damodaram Vasudevam Bhaje | Shreedharam Madhavam Gopikavallabham Janakee-Nayakam Ramachandram Bhaje ||
Achyutham Kesavam is a popular bhajan dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This Bhajan is chanted in the evening while performing puja and prayer.

Lord Venkateshwara ( Srinivasa) : Kalyana Adbhuta Gaatraya Kaamita Artha Pradayine | Shreemad Venkatanathaya Sreenivasaya Tey Namaha ||

Lord Srinivasa! You wear the signs of Kalyana (auspiciousness) on Your wonderful Body to convey that hearing Your glory bestows all wealth and worshipping. You create the light of Knowledge that leads Your devotees to Your abode. Salutations to You!

O lord, the tasks of this day, who burden I placed on you this morning, are over. It was you who made me walk, talk, think and act. I therefore place at your feet all my thoughts, words and deeds. My task is done. Receive me; I am coming back to you. Please repair my body and prepare me nicely for my next days journey.

Tulasi Slokam: Tulasi shree sakhi shubae paapaharinim punyadae/ namastae naaradanutae nam naarayana priyae

O,Tulasi,you are the friend of Devi lakshmi.You are pure.You destroy all sins.You give luck,auspiciousness and merit. I pray to you,the one praised by the saga Narada, and who(Tulasi),is the favourite of Narayana.

Soorya Praarthana: Brahma svaroopamudayae madhyaahnae tu mahaeshvaraha / Astakaalae svayam vishnuh trayeemoortih divaakaraha/ The Sun-god is in the form of Lord Brahma in the morning,as he rises; he is in the form of Lord siva in the mid-noon and in the form of Lord Vishnu at the time of setting.

Subramanya stutihi: Neelakanthavaahanam svishadbhujam kireetinam Lolaratna kundala-prabhaabhiraama-shanmukham/ Shoola-shakti-danda-kukkutaaksha-maalikaadharam Baalameeshvaram kumara-shaila-vaasinam bhajae// He possesses a blu-necked vehicle as his conveyance(peacock).He has two times six arms(twelve).He wears a crown.He wears ear rings studded with precious gems that hang beautifully(kundalam),in all twelve ears on his six faces.when they move here and there,they dazzle brilliantly.He bears a trident(sula),a spear(sakti),a mace(Danda),a flag with cocks insignia and an Akshamala as weapons and emblems. I pray to that Lord subrahmanya,the young god who resides in the kumara hills.

Dakshinaamorthi stotram: Guravae sarvalokaanaam bhishajae bhavaroginaam/ Nidhayae sarvavidyaanaam shri dakshinamoortayae namah/ He is the preceptor for all the worlds.He is the physician to the people suffering from the disease of samsara.He is the treasure-house of all knowledge.I offer my worship to that great Dakshinamurthy. Hayagreeva Stutihi: Gnyaanaanandamayam daevam nirmala sphatikaakruthim / Aadhaaram sarva vidyaanam hayagreevam upaasmahae// I offer my worship to Lord Hayagriva,who is the foundation of all knowledge,who possesses a body that is very pure like the purest of crystals and who is the store house of Gnana or the supreme form of knowledge. Hanumat stutihi: Buddhirbalam yashodhairyam nirbhayatvamarogataa/ Ajaadhyam vaakpatutvam cha hanoomat smaranaadbhavet//

If anyone,remembers the name(and chants) of hanuman anjaneyae-he is bestowed with intelligence,fame,courage,fearlessness and he becomes devoid of all diseases.He is removed of his sluggishness or dullness;he aquires sensible speech.

Ek sloki Ramayanam (Ramayana in one stanza) Aadho Rama athapo vananu gamanam, Hathwa mrugam kanchanam, Vaidehi haranam, jatayu maranam, Sugreeva sambhashanam, Bali nigrahanam, samudhra tharanam, Lanka pureem dahanam, Paschad Ravana Kumbha karna madanam, Ethat ithi Ramayanam
Once Rama went to forest, He chased the deer, Sitha was kidnapped, Jatayu was killed, There were talks with Sugreeva, Bali was killed, The sea was crossed, Lanka was burnt, And later Ravana and Kumbha karna, Were also killed. This in short is the story of Ramayanam.

Eka sloki bhagawatham (Bhagawatham in one stanza)

Aadhou devaki devi garbha jananam, Gopi gruhe palanam, Mayaa poothana jeevithaa apaharanam, govardhanodharanam, Kamsa chedana, kouravadi hananam, kunthi sutha palanam, Ethad bhagawatham purana kathitham sri Krishna leelamrutham
Born to queen Devaki, Brought up by Gopis, Took out the life of Ogress Poothana, Lifted the Govardhana mountain, Beheaded his uncle Kamsa, Helped in killing the Kouravas, And looked after the children of Kunthi. This is in short the ancient story of Bhagawatha, Which describes the nectar like play of Lord Krishna. Then he prays to some great individuals of the Hindu lore.

Shani Sloka: Om Surya puthro dheerghadeho, Vishaalaksho Shiva priyah Mandachaara Prasannatma, Peedaam haratu mei Shani hi

O Lord, the son of Surya , with long body, wide eyes, very close to Shiva, slow mover & always satisfied, please keep away me from all obstacles.

maataa cha pitaa twameva banduscha sakhaa twameva, vidya dravinam twameva, sarvam mama deva deva.

Meaning: O Lord,you are my mother, you are my father, you are my kinsman,you are my friend, you are my knowledge ,you are my wealth , you are my All,my God of Gods.

Asato maa sadgamaya, Tamaso maa Jyotirgamaya, Mrutyormaa Amrutam gamaya Om shantih,shantih, shantih. Meaning: Lead me from Untruth to truth, Lead me from Darkness to Light, Lead me from Death to Immortality.

Universal prayers which are the essence of the prayers of all religions,should form part of our daily prayers,recited every morning and evening.God being omnipresent,has many names and forms, and the Sarva Dharma prayer contains some of His many names from the different religions.
