I am privileged to write in support of my dear student Mahmood Ahmed.

I handled his courses: "Introduction to fabric forming" , Weaving Technology, and Weaving Theory & Practice during the last three years of his undergraduate studies. During that time, I witnessed his tremendous growth and d evelopment not only in the area of academic learning and achievements, but in maturity and character as well. Mahmood was without question, an outstanding student of his class. He was the second highest CGPA holder in the Fabric manufacturing department. In my classes, he showed strong analytical skills and the ability to workout logical solutions. His presentations in the class were always well-prepared and well-spoken. Also, I highly rate his contribution to the class discussions as he often provided unique insights into specific issues. His high level of intelligence and diligence were corroborated by the University Medal of Honor and several merit scholarships that he received. Besides, he endeared himself to everyone with his kind and compassionate nature. Mahmood embraced every opportunity to further his knowledge of technical textiles. Considering the type of academic projects he was involved in, from active participation in workshops and seminars related to technical textiles to a research project on technical textiles, I was impressed by his motivation and clarity of vision for the future. By presenting a well-researched and an interesting project on technical textiles despite limited technical resources, he demonstrated his ability to rise to any challenge that he must face. I believe his ability to carry out independent research is best among his fellows. Mahmood has spoken with me of his aim to become a researcher in the field of technical textiles, and I am convinced of his ability to do so. Considering his potential and enthusiasm for overcoming the deterrents to technical textiles development in Pakistan, an overarching and advance education of technical textiles perfectly suits his ambitions. I am confident that through this program he will gain the knowledge and experience he needs to thrive on his research goals and rise to future challenges. I strongly urge you to award him the scholarship for this program. You will not find a more worthy recipient. Based upon Mahmood's academic performance and my understanding of this program, I believe he will perform exceptionally. Therefore, I highly recommend you to consider Mahmood Ahmed's application for MSc. Advance textiles and Performance clothing. As his teachers and fellows, he has made us proud. I am he will continue to do so as he grows at your master's program and beyond.
