About the Institution: One Day National Level Technical Seminar On RECENT TRENDS IN COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS (CFD) & COMBUSTION 21st of March 2013 Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology is an ISO 9001:2000 certified, AICTE approved self-financing institution, affiliated to Anna University. It was established in the year 2000 by the great industrialist and Philanthropist, Thiru T.S.R. Khannaiyan. The College is situated on Coimbatore Pollachi highway and is about 15km from Coimbatore railway station. It offers nine Under Graduate courses in Engg & Tech and Six Post Graduate courses. About the Department: The Department of Aeronautical Engineering was established in the year 2005 headed by Prof. Arun Kumar Adak. The Department also inaugurated the Aeronautical Students' Engineering Association (ASEA) in March 2008. The Department has well equipped laboratories and good infrastructure to meet the university curriculum requirements and is managed by a dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching faculty of rich and varied experience. The Department is keen on providing impetus to the students acquiring practical exposure from aviation companies. The Department strives for development and promotion of meaningful object oriented academic interaction between students and faculty in a healthy atmosphere. It also helps to stimulate the creativity, individuality, and group dynamism among students. About the Seminar: Research and development plays an important role in ensuring sophisticated life for country. In aerospace industry, the development of aerodynamics and application of CFD plays a major role. Aerodynamics is the way air moves around things. Flow physics concept of various objects will give the clear idea about the aerodynamic characteristics. In addition, aircraft design is always growing with development of aerodynamics. In design and development, the specific milestone is Light combat aircraft (LCA), which is carried out by DRDO.
