World History World War I Content Presentation Description: Each Group will be assigned content with regards to World

War I (1914-1918). You will be assigned your historical subject from the list I provide for you. You will use at least 3 sources for information regarding the subject you have chosen. You will make an outline of important information regarding your subject matter. Each group will present a 10-15 minute maximum power point outline and oral presentation to the class. You must include a minimum of two slides per group member and at least 1 picture per person. You may also include moving video and or sound, but it is not required! Each student in the group must present at least two slides. You will be divided into groups. Each group will have access to an online computer. Purpose: The purpose of the project is to give you the opportunity to learn more about WWI in general and more specifically about significant events that played important roles during WWI. You will also work on the research and presentations skills you will need in higher education as well as the professional world. You will have the chance to learn how to create a computer slide presentation implementing text and graphics. You will also be able to add this project to your notebook. This project also gives you the opportunity to satisfy the following Expected School Wide Learning Results (ESLRS). Technological Literacy / Critical Thinking / Post Secondary Preparation (a) Cooperative Learning (b) Oral Communication Skills. This project focuses on California State Content Standards for World History. Standards addressed: (1) Standard 10.5 - Students analyze the causes and course of the First World War; (2) Standard 10.6 - Students analyze the effects of the First World War. Research: You must use at least 3 sources and include them in a bibliography at the end of your slide presentation. You will be required to use the database (listed below) the school is providing for your research. You may also use additional sources. The sites are as follows: ABC/CLIO: World History, American History, American Govt http://www.socialstudies.abc-clio.com Username: sanmarino Password: sanmarino Note: Wikipedia is not a reliable source, and can not be used. Outline: The outline must include but not be limited to: Who, What, Where, When, Why and How? Results and significance of content, events or people Did any of the events, people change the course of history? Why or why not? Presentation: Your presentation will be approximately 10-15 minutes in length. You will present using PowerPoint. You should preview your presentation on the designated machine prior to the due date. (If your assignment doesn't work on this machine it will be counted late!) Your slides will be shown on the TV or with the use of a LCD Projector to your peers in the class. You will talk about your outline, show your slides. Bibliography: You must include a bibliography with your project. Use MLA format and include a minimum or 3 sources. One of the sources must be from the database you are required to use. Your bibliography should be your last page and then attach the source articles used. Make sure you site each particular article used with; Title, author, and database!

The copy must include; PowerPoint outline, bibliography, a printout of your slides (6 slides per page). Each group will be chosen at random for presentation. ***Each group member should have a copy of this project to include in their notebook*** ***Projects will not be returned*** DO NOT PLAGIARIZE, cite each article, title, author, and source used for your outline!!!!!!!
