CHM03a Organic Chemistry This course deals with the study of different classes of organic compounds: their structures,

, functional groups, sources, uses and applications, properties and reactions. It provides a venue for analyzing and correlating the effects of structure on the properties and reactions of organic compounds. HAP01/HAP01b Human Anatomy and Physiology The course deals with the presentation of the fundamental concepts of human organisms stressing the structural and functional microscopic structures, homeostasis, and body mechanisms. It presents human body as dynamic living organisms, how the body develops and functions, how it may suffer malfunctions of malformations, and how it can restore and maintain itself in the face of the many suffer stressors it confronts. It utilizes a sequential approach from simple to complex concepts of the human cell, tissues, organs and systems namely: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, excretory, digestive and reproductive systems. Practical considerations concerning selected minor alternations of body mechanisms are integrated after the discussion of each system. HIS01a Philippine History, Government and Constitution A course on the history of Filipino people and the Philippine Government. It is designed to give the students the basic knowledge about their country, culture, the structure organization and functions of the government of the Philippines. It also deals with the constitution, noting its basic principles and institutions it has created. The students will also learn from this course the major historic periods in sequential order and the important services rendered by the government in the promotion of social justice and human rights. NSTP1 National Service Training Program 1 The course provides AUF students a venue to deepen their self-understanding and become skilled to possess and manifest critical social consciousness as responsible members of the community and the society at large. It challenges the students to critically reflect and discern on the present realities and be responsible to the signs of the times in the light of Christian Faith with emphasis on becoming persons-for-others. It also serves as a venue to develop positive attitude towards the value of service as a way of witnessing moral and sound social values through community involvement towards social transformation. PHL03a Philosophy of the Human Person This is an inquiry into man as a person and his existence in the world with emphasis on the Filipino in the context of his culture and society. SSC01c Geography/Sociology/Anthropology Geography, Sociology and Anthropology basically focus on mans society and culture. These three disciplines deal with the study on the basic social patterns, processes and results of human relations while looking principally into mans development, origin, works and survival. SSC02 Rizals Life, Works and Writings The course deals with the biography of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the historical circumstances and conditions occurring during his times, his main works, particularly his two novels and his influence and contributions to the development of Filipino nationalism and nation building and the relevance of his legacy to the Philippine centennial.
