Chapter 1 Objective of the Project

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

Towards the fulfillment of the course "Bachelor of Business Administration" we are supposed to ,make a working project that is not only easy to operate but also useful for many commercial purposes. That is why we have decided to make a project on "GOA TOURISIM ". As we all know that the website is an important piece of information in today's scenario, we feel it to be the perfect concept to make an easily opreatable and working project.

Our objective is to facilitate the users to get the required information about "GOA TOURISIM" easily via exploring our website.

Chapter -2 Introduction to the Project

Introduction
Tourism and Goa are synonymous with each other. Goa is one of the most preferred places of holiday in India. It may not be the state to receive maximum number of tourists in India but the state is well known to receive international tourists on a large scale, more than probably any other state in the country. Thus, it is evident that tourism is the main source of income for the state government as well as residents who rely heavily on the tourists to boost of their trade. Notably, Goa is the state with the highest GDP in India. Tourist Attractions in Goa

What is that helps the state to make such a strong impact on the tourists that brings them back time and again? The sun kissed beaches of the state are an obvious attraction. Agonda, Candolim, Calangute, Dona Paula are some of the Goa beaches that are most inviting. However, these are not the only beaches in the state. The beaches are known to witness a massive footfall throughout the year. Besides, the churches in the state are the living reminiscent of the Portuguese rule in the state of Goa. The beautifully adorned churches are one of the major contributors that led the state earn the sobriquet of "Pearl of the Orient". Few of the most renowned churches in the state include Basilica of Bom Jesus, St. Augustine church, Church of St Francis of Assisi among several others. The State is infamous for its unending carnivals and parties. The New Year, Christmas parties and the Sunburn festival in the state of Goa are centre of attraction for a massive crowd, many a times comprising of celebrities all across India.

Goa Hotels and Resorts

Goa boasts of hotels and resorts, which make for an important aspect of tourism component, in abundance. One is likely to find a plethora of resorts and hotels, from which the person can pick and choose as per his budget and choice. The Goa beach resorts are largely popular among the tourists. These hotels and resorts are specifically designed to cater to the traveling needs of the visitors as they offer a wide variety of flexible plans. However, it is really a task finding rooms in one of these if you haven't booked yourself in advance. There is no dearth of good restaurants in the state which are known to serve delectable Goan cuisine.

<h3>The Administrative head of the Department is Shri. R. K. Verma, IAS as Principal Secretary (Tourism). The Department has Zonal Offices in North Goa at Mapusa and in South Goa at Margao.<br>

The Tourist Information Centres/Counters are located within the State and in Mumbai (temporarily closed). The Zonal Officers are primarily responsible for monitoring the Registration of Tourist Trade under the Tourist Trade Act, 1982.</h3><br>

<h2>The Director of Tourism:</h2> <h3>The current Director of Tourism is Shri. Nikhil Desai. In addition, the Director of Tourism is assisted by the below mentioned Officers and may be contacted by the public as per the tasks assigned to each officer;<br> Ms. Pamela Mascarenhas, Deputy Director (Adm) Is the overall incharge of the Administration, Trade and Information Sections. Shri.Hanumant K. Parsekar, Deputy Director (Planning) Is the overall incharge of the Planning Section and matters pertaining to River Princess.<br> Shri.Arvind B. It is considered to be more than 180 years old and is the only reminder of the British occupation of the territory of Goa during the Napoleonic period.<BR> During the Napoleonic wars from 1799 to 1813, the British military cemetery was built to serve the purpose of a British garrison of Rs.10, 000 men who were stationed at Fort Cabo to prevent Goa from falling into French hands. <BR> The cemetery has 56 gravestones and 47 tombstones, the earliest that date to 1808 and the last to 1912. It can be reached by taking the road connecting the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) with the Raj Bhawan. </h2>
