10 steps to getting your ducks data in a row

Headers across columns, data in rows below Format column headers No gap between header row and data set No extra spaces in text fields No blank rows or columns No blanks in your data set Dont have two data items in one cell Avoid merged cells in a raw data set Use real dates as headers and format them Sort the data in a meaningful way

VLOOKUP Searches the left-most column in a table for a value and then returns a value from a nominated column in that row

SUMIFS Sums items from a column in a table based on matching one or many conditions
=sumifs (sum this range, if the items in this range,

MATCH Searches for an item in a list and then returns its position in that list
=match (this value, this list , exact match?)

INDEX Returns the value at a given row and column intersection in a table
=index (this table, this row number , this column number)

OFFSET Describes a new range in relation to a given cell
