When the resolution of the wide-area camera isnt quite enough, the usercontrolled Spot Beam can look anywhere within the wide-area image for even higher resolution. When the user doesnt need the Spot Beam, it enters an automated step-starerecord algorithm that captures and databases over a gigapixel of imagery every two minutes.
