Consulting on service start-ups and compliance audits for home health agencies, rehabilitation agencies, and medical offices. Developing strategic planning for accountable care organizations including cost/claims control as well as integration of Medicare regulations with patient and physician-group needs. Achieved a financial turnaround of a failing home health agency. Owner wanted to walk-away with $1 million loss. In a year, stabilized operations and created the financial and contractual framework for a $1.6 million sale of the agency. Director of Finance & Controller (1997-1999) EldaCare, Inc. (Outreach Senior Health Services, Inc.), Fort Lauderdale, FL. Company owned, operated, and/or provided services to rehabilitation providers in nine states. Developed systems to convert 40 CORFs in 9 states from owned to managed facilities including information system design for management services billing. Corrected prior year Medicare cost reports resulting in an additional $750,000 in reimbursement. Switched current cost allocations methods to provide an additional $750,000 in Medicare payments. Developed price sensitivity, revenue enhancement, and square footage studies that provided additional reimbursement of over $2 million.
