GypLyner
GypLyner wall lining is a cost-effective, virtually independent metal frame dry internal lining. It is a general purpose system which is nonloadbearing and suitable for all internal applications. It can be used in all building types ranging from private houses to large commercial developments. The inherent versatility makes it equally suitable as a wall and ceiling lining.

b22 GypLyner Planning the job 1 Estimated construction time is 3m 2 / man hour ready for nishing. 2 The depth of the cavity is determined by the positioning of the xing brackets. Allow for a standoff of 25mm - 75mm plus the lining thickness for GL2 Brackets, and 25mm - 125mm plus the lining thickness for GL9 Brackets. These stand-offs are sufcient to correct irregularities normally encountered in solid backgrounds. 3 The drylining cavity must be closed otherwise thermal performance will be downgraded. This is achieved in practice if the abutting elements and the background are well tted, and junctions are sealed. When the perimeter of the cavity is to be sealed by the drylining contractor, apply a continuous llet of Gyproc Dri-Wall Adhesive or Gyproc Sealant to the perimeter of the external wall and around any service penetrations and openings. Make provision for restricting air movement around the perimeter of suspended timber oors, such as the provision of a exible seal between the oor and walls.

4 Brackets should be positioned equidistant at max. 800mm vertical centres. Where there is a requirement for increased rigidity, these support centres should be reduced accordingly, although acoustic performance may be downgraded. Contact British Gypsum for guidance. 5 Where there is a requirement for a more durable lining, 13mm DuraLine may be used in place of either 12.5mm or 15mm WallBoard, or 12.5mm FireLine, giving equal performance. 6 Consider a damp proof membrane on new concrete or screeded oors. 7 Use full height boards wherever possible if joints are unavoidable endeavour to position them above suspended ceilings or below access oor level. 8 Support horizontal board joints with Gypframe Fixing T. 9 Select the right length of drywall screws (nominal entry into metal of 10mm). 10 Form vertical cavity barriers, where specied, in long runs of lining.

Quantities A detailed take-off calculator has been compiled for estimating component usage for GypLyner wall linings and is included overleaf. Note that quantities are approx. and do not allow for wastage. Use instructions as follows:
1 Choose lining height and stud length, and read off the number of studs required. 2 Read off the number of GL2/GL9 Brackets, GL3 Channel Connectors and GL8 Track required. 3 Choose board size and read off the number of lengths of GFT1 Fixing T or GFS1 Fixing Strap required. 4 5 6
