ABI & LO-TYPE

Type Zine Client Class Project Year Jan. 2012 Size 6x6 inches Tools Pen & Paper,
Illustrator, Indesign

This was a project for our typography class. These are some pages of a zine where we described our partner using a typeface. I chose Lo-Type BQ to depict my partner, Abi Godoy. I drew the illustrations first in my sketchpad, then had them scanned and undergo live trace as well to give them rugged edges that would match the typefaces.

Packaging Design Class Project Feb 2011 5.8 x 4.5 x 3 in Illustrator

For this project we had to apply our learnings on Filipino-Chinese design in a redesign of Master Siomais packaging. I avoided using white but used the colors of red and yellow strongly because not only are they closely associated with food and prosperity.

SPY
Type Client Year Tools
Illustration Personal Project July 2012 Pen & Paper, Illustrator
This was a largely Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy inspired piece, and an experiment with transparencies and displacement to expound on the shiftiness and shadiness of the spy world.

Mother AND child

Type Client Year Size Tools

Cover Illustration Matanglawin June 2011 16.5 x 10.75 in (spread) Photoshop, Stock Imagery, Jeepney Magazine and Philippine Graphic

This was commissioned for the cover of Matanglawin vol. 35 issue #6. The question Is there still hope for peace talks? was posed in the brief. Peace talks are the only hope for families of the community to live happily. Their lives are delicately balanced between the warring forces of the government and insurgents. I then created a collage with the image of a mother and child in the center sheltered by a peace sign in the middle of crossfire. The photo of the mother and child was taken from Jeepney magazine, while one of the soldiers was from Philippine Graphic. Both images were used with permission.
