Awakening a Love for Christ in the Heart of Richmond
April 21, 2013 The Fourth Sunday of Easter 10:55 a.m.
One: I say to the LORD, You are my Lord; I have no good apart from You. Many: The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; You hold my lot. One: I bless the LORD Who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. Many: I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. One: Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; Many: You will not abandon my soul to Sheol You make known to me the path of life. All: In Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
St. Kevin
PRAYER OF CONFESSION Almighty and heavenly Father, In Christ Jesus You bore the burden of our sin, suffering the pain of death, and rising from the dead to new life. But we confess that we have taken Your grace for granted. We rejoice in Your Resurrection, But divert our eyes from the Cross. We proclaim the mercy of Your forgiveness, But disregard its cost to You. We celebrate the blessing of new life in Christ, But continue old habits that keep our Selves on the throne. Lord, have mercy upon us, and forgive us our sins, we pray. Melt our hard hearts with the brilliance of Your glory; Open our eyes to the sins we ignore; And spark in us a longing for holiness; That we may truly repent of self-serving ways, And seek to serve You in newness of life; Through the power of Your Holy Spirit, And in the name of Jesus, Your risen Son, we pray. ASSURANCE OF PARDON EASTERTIDE ALLELUIA
(All sing the Alleluia after the organ introduction.)

The Lord my pasture will prepare, and feed me with a shepherds care. His presence will my wants supply, and guard me with a watchful eye. My noonday walks he will attend, and all my silent midnight hours defend. When in the sultry glebe I faint, or on the thirsty mountain pant, to fertile vales and dewy meads my weary, wandering steps he leads, where peaceful rivers, soft and slow, amid the cooling verdant landscape flow. Amen.- words Joseph Addison, 1672-1719
There is love, peace, patience, and joy; there is gentleness and kindness. And there is goodness, faithfulness, self-control: These are the fruits of the Spirit, the fruits of the Spirit of God. - Galatians 5:22-23
