Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, now into our third century serving God! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (main foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please complete the tear-off attendance slip attached to the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. We ask that there be no food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity, and find their place of service in the church and in the world.

Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

The annual Church Yard Sale is fast approaching Saturday, April 27. We need church members to bring your gently-used stuff to donate to the church starting on Monday evening April 22. Evelyn will be at the church from 3:30 to about 6:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday before the Yard Sale to take your stuff and get it organized. We thank Evelyn for volunteering to do this each year. She needs some help each evening, so church members please let her know if you are available for part of that time. We are also asking for baked goods for the Bake Sale. This is always a very popular part of the sale, so please let Evelyn know if you can help us out by providing baked goods to sell. The church Session voted Tuesday evening to use the proceeds from the Yard Sale to construct the brick planter that will go around the church sign. Mowing! We need volunteers to help mow each week as the weather improves. If you would like to help, please see Bill Brown, Jr. Facilities Manager, and he will get you on a rotation. New Hope invites the men of the church and the surrounding community to a

weekly Prayer Breakfast each Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. A devotional is shared over breakfast, and a time of prayer follows before the busy workday begins. In a casual atmosphere men may discuss concerns that stay within the group. A bond between friends develops. This is a meaningful time of fellowship for the men who attend. Visitors are always welcome. Come join us! New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday mornings to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. Those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday after the Worship Service at 11:30. Adult Small Group Bible Studies are offered on Sunday mornings at 9:00. Karen Crowder leads a topical discussion which meets in the church conference room. Royce Jackson leads a more traditional quarterly-based Bible study which meets in the classroom across from the childrens Creation Station class-room. Both groups are closeknit and enjoy sharing concerns, praying for each other and fellowshipping together. Stephen Ministry - Got a burden? You dont have to carry that burden alone. You can have a STEPHEN MINISTER who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. If you or someone you know is interested in receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program at New Hope, please contact the pastor through the Church office at (615) 449-7020 and request that a Stephen minister contact you.
