Abusive use increases the likely-hood of suppressor damage. If refinishing is desired, rub the old loosened, heat affected finish off with rubbing alcohol and a clean rag and apply the finish of your choice. We recommend Norrell Moly. Use a light coat with the suppressor standing on the rear cap. Painting the mount, mount bore, or threads may result in tolerance interference or poor alignment, which is a potential source of suppressor damage. Do not paint the mating surfaces. CAUTION: The Recce 7 Suppressor combats the Impulse noise at the muzzle of your weapon and cannot account for the actions associated operating noise, which will vary by weapon type, system wear, and barrel length. For the highest level of hearing protection, wear hearing protection at all times while using your suppressor. MILITARY USE: In operational environments where concealment is paramount, first round flash can be mitigated by firing the weapon with the suppressor mounted, prior to an operation, and immediately taping the muzzle aperture of the suppressor to trap combustion gases (an oxygen free environment). Additionally the optional very light coat of oil from the maintenance section will reduce first round flash as well. Some field testing should be conducted, ideally, to derive the particular strategy that works best for your unit. Infrared heat signature can be mitigated by using a suppressor cover such as the SUPCOV. For optimal concealment less than 30 rounds should be fired. Covers insulate, so they add thermal stress to the suppressor, reducing cooling. Reduced cooling reduces tolerable maximum ROF, so covers are not recommended unless needed to reduce thermal signature or mirage (with scoped rifles) or to mitigate risk of burns during transition drills. Thankyou for purchasing a Recce 7 sound suppressor. Please read these instructions carefully prior to use. Compatibility: The Recce 7 suppressor is adaptable to 7.62mm weapons through the use of an appropriate muzzle brake, suppressor attachable (MBS-A) mount. CAUTION: Your suppressor can be interfaced with .338LM MBS-A mounts, but does not have sufficient bore clearance for safety with these rounds. Firing larger than .308 diameter bullets through your 7.62mm Recce 7 suppressor may damage or destroy your suppressor and could cause death or serious bodily harm to people in the vicinity of your rifle. Safety Considerations! Unload your weapon in accordance with its manufacturers user manual prior to mounting the sound suppressor. Remove the bolt or bolt carrier group from the weapon prior to inspection of the mounting alignment. To mount your Recce 7: Grasp the suppressor and carefully place it over the host weapons installed MBS-A mount. The suppressor will bottom out when the threads on the MBS-A touch the threads on the suppressor. When this occurs, engage the thread by rotating counter clockwise until you feel the starting point of the thread. Next tighten the suppressor by rotating it clockwise until it is fully tightened. Tighten the suppressor firmly, but do not over-tighten, as this can make the suppressor difficult to remove after use. Confirm alignment! Visually confirm alignment on every untested weapon prior to first use. The practical method involves placing white paper in the breach, and looking through the suppressor bore, parallel to the walls of the barrel bore on all sides, comparing clearance to elements of the suppressor bore. If alignment does not appear to be right, or if you desire the most minimal POI shift and maximum safety from baffle strikes or other issues, send your barrel to ADCO firearms in Ohio for barrel threading. www.adcofirearms.com Warning! Risk of Burns: Suppressors get very hot during use temperatures of 450-900F are typical of normal use. Use of a suppressor cover can mitigate risk of burns: see military use considerations for more information on suppressor covers.

Recommended rate of fire considerations: The Recce 7 is constructed of TIG welded, heat treated, high strength stainless steel, which is substantially stronger than typical stainless steel, for high pressure conditions. Your Recce 7 suppressor is extremely strong and durable, however care should be taken to prolong service life. The recommended maximum rate of fire for self-loading calibers is no more than 60 rounds on full auto, followed by 14 rounds per minute sustained. Do not quench/cool your heated suppressor with water, ice, or snow. Quenching metals will em-brittle them, can warp parts, and may damage or destroy your suppressor. Allow your suppressor to air cool. Calibers and Minimum Length Barrel Ratings: The Recce 7 7.62mm suppressor is rated for 7.62mm ammunition in barrel lengths as short as 14.5. Use of longer barrels will promote maximum suppressor wear life. Maintenance: Clean and protect your suppressors mounting system and your MBS-A mount after every use. Ensure mating surfaces are free of corrosion, as well as copper and carbon fouling. Failure to clean the mounting system or remove your suppressor for storage after use can cause your suppressor to become stuck to the muzzle device on your weapon. Rod the bore with a brass 9mm bore brush coated with your favorite cleaner / lubricant / corrosion inhibitor. Spray a light coat of WD-40 or Rem Oil into the suppressor body for storage to displace moisture and further reduce the minimal risk of corrosion. Give the suppressor body and threads a light coat of oil, and wipe dry. In operational environments, the suppressor can be remounted after cleaning to protect threads from damage, or the MBSA thread protector can be used for that purpose. If for some reason an excessive amount of oil is used in maintenance, drain the excess prior to firing. Fluids are incompressible- a substantial amount of fluid will raise operating pressures with potentially dangerous results. Do not use grease or water in your suppressor. Finish: High rate of fire operation at temperatures exceeding 1100F after firing more than 100 rounds in 1-3 minutes, may damage the finish.
