Admission requirements An undergraduate degree (BA/BSc) with at least 60 credits (ECTS) in economics, economic history, history, or statistics. English B (advanced). See www.lunduniversity.lu.se for details on English proficiency levels.

Programme overview
Economic history is not only about the past; it is also a way to look at the present and the future in the context of accumulated experience. Core courses deal with population and living standards, institutions and economic growth, as well as the international economy and globalisation. Optional courses are offered on a broad range of topics. Methodological issues are addressed in both qualitative and quantitative terms and you will acquire the ability to carry out investigations and analyses concerning changes in social and economic conditions under different circumstances. Send your supporting documents (for details on document requirements, see www.universityadmissions.se): - Cover sheet - Certificates and diplomas from previous studies at an internationally recognised higher education institution (university or university college) - Transcripts of completed courses and grades for each semester (including course list) - Proof of English language skills - Statement of purpose (see instructions on www.lusem. lu.se/statement-of- purpose) - Proof that you meet the specific admission requirements - Copy of the page in your passport with your personal data and photograph, or some other identification document (EU/ EEA citizens may need to send a certified passport copy) 3. Selection criteria/additional info Selection is based on academic qualifications and statement of purpose. tuition fees There are no tuition fees for EU/EEA citizens. Programme modules/courses
The full programme comprises two years of full-time study, but there will be a provision to leave after one year with a Master of Science (60 ECTS credits). Compulsory courses (7.5 ECTS credits each): Comparative Analysis of Economic Change; Population and Living Standards; Research Design, Econometrics with Time Series Analysis; Institutions, Economic Growth and Equity; the Global Economy and Long-Term Economic Growth. Electives (7.5 ECTS credits each): Economic Growth Over Time and Space; Causes of Demographic Change; Economics of Innovation; Innovation, Energy and Sustainability; China and the Asia Pacific; Human Capital in a Historical Perspective; Consequences of Demographic Change; Advanced Time Series Analysis. The programme ends with a degree project.

Career prospects
Graduates are particularly equipped for analytical work in the private and public sectors that requires intellectual judgement, evaluation and analysis of economic facts and ideas, and good communication skills.
