Part A) Prose Poem. Write a prose poemin the style of Sandra Cisneroson any of the following topics. Use your own Table of Contents as inspiration, too. o Your neighborhood or house o Your name o An important issue in your life (for Esperanza it is growing up) o An important moment in your lifeone that has taught you something, or that helped you realize something significant about yourself, your family, or your culture o Any topic that is meaningful to your and your life right now You poem MUST: 1. Be 1-2 pages long. 2. Use a creative narrative style similar to Cisneros format. *Be creative! Use Cisneros story format and her style as inspiration! 3. Include a creative title. * Also use Cisneros titles as inspiration! 4. Include 2-4 literary and stylistic devices from the list below that will best communicate the meaningfulness of your prose poem. Part B) Explain your prose poem in an Expository Mini-Essay. Write a reflection of your own work. Explain why you chose the topic you did (why is it meaningful to you?), and what literary and stylistic elements you used to show this meaning (for example, Cisneros uses the literary devices listed above to draw a map of her neighborhood). Treat this part of the assignment as a formal body paragraph. Use quotes from your own essay as evidence to support your thesis.
