The question that is often asked throughout the generations is. What is the meaning of life?.

If you asked people you would come out with several different responses, some funny and everyone seems to have a different opinion but it seems pretty evident that people want to know the meaning of life. The people want to have purpose. We want to know that we have meaning, that we have significance, and that we have a purpose. Not just were floating through life with no goals, no passion. We want to have meaning and so we searched for this meaning. And as Ive said, people have different opinion about it so where do we get to find the answer. We know; the return to God, our creator. Because philosophers cannot debate the meaning of life but you/we have a God that can declare the meaning of life. [ slide] So today we will be looking at his word that is based on the book The purpose driven life by Rick Warren which you may be familiar as he collected some scriptures that helped to deal with the meaning of life. [ slide]-----BRIEF BACKGROUD There are 5 points he made in this book that well be sharing to help you capture the essence. [ slide] Were gonna look at this 5 different points in which you can add things to it so we can understand the way that God defines the Meaning of Life. As we think about it, what is the purpose of our life? [ slide] Remember #1 You were planned for Gods Pleasure . [ slide] and that implies WORSHIP [ slide]-----Eph. 1:5 Because of his love God has already decided that through Jesus Christ he would make us HIS children ------------ this was his Pleasure and Purpose. God wanted to have children. Just as many parents, or many couples make that decision. Some chooses not to have children but some choose to have children. And oftentimes those who choose to have children, they do that because they look

forward to the pleasure and the JOY that they hoped that the children will bring in their lives. But sometimes thats not always the case but most days it is. Those long nights when they are crying and your so tired you may not be joyful as the other days but you stll LOVE your children/s and you VALUE that relationship and so God wanted to have children and he wanted to have that kind of relationship with us also. And so as we think about what pleases him since it is God who created us [ slide] He is our Father and if we will understand that, recognized that, that will be proud of him as our Father and we will do things to make him happy ----If we do all of that we were able to PLEASE him. He wants us to WORSHIP and PRAISE his name to give him the honour that he deserves. That what God wants. Since we were PLANNED FOR GODS PLEASURE.
