An important contribution to protecting the environment 19 % of the world's electricity is currently being used by lighting and/or artificial illumination. Low-energy lighting, such as LED lighting, is making it possible to significantly reduce this percentage. In addition to this, low energy lighting has the potential to cut CO2 emissions by 42,5 million tonnes annually. Low energy LED lighting is energy efficient and as such, has the potential to make an important contribution to protecting our environment. LED lighting uses very little electricity, which means significantly lower CO2 emissions. Using low energy lighting alternatives is a great way to save ecological resources. When used economically, ie., switching them off when not in use, the strain of lighting on our environment is further reduced. As well as being a low energy light source, magic LED lights are also manufactured in an ecologically friendly way and produce less environmental pollution when disposed of than other products. magic lights are produced from concept to completion with function and the environment in mind. Superior energy balance Compared with a halogen lamp of the same light output, the LED is not only distinguished by significantly lower energy consumption, greater economic and luminous efficiency but also by its exceptionally long service life. Operating maintenance-free for 6 hours a day, 250 days a year, the useful life of a LED is up to 33 years*. A halogen lamp, in contrast, needs replacing after approximately 1.3 years.
40% of the energy used by an LED is converted into light and only 60% into heat. For halogen lamps, this ratio is around 10% to 90%. * Depending on the type of LED, the ambient temperature and the quality of the power supply.

Impressive efficiency also in terms of economy In addition to long useful life, the economic benefits of LEDs are primarily the result of low operating and maintenance costs. Their compact dimensions, impact and vibration resistance, low heat build-up and high quality of light make them predestined for virtually all areas demanding the use of innovative, energy and cost-efficient lighting technology. Using 80% less energy than a halogen lamp and therefore far cheaper to operate, the LED's tremendous energy-saving potential is obvious.

Accentuating, highlighting and emotionalizing these are the strengths with which LEDs have so far become established as a source of light. The new, innovatively and comprehensively extended magic LED range for the first time offers numerous attractive lighting solutions which depending on task and preference not only provide accent, night and orientation light, but also function light for all lighting tasks in and on furniture. This really boosts the creative potential in planning attractive lighting.

Light Light is electromagnetic radiation at wavelengths from 380 - 720 nm. If it's short-wave, i.e. below 380 nm, it's ultraviolet light. Long-wave light at a wavelength of > 720 nm is called infrared light (heat radiation). Luminous intensity Light intensity (illuminance) is probably the term most frequently used in lighting and defines the incidence of luminous flux on a defined surface, measured in lux (Lx). Lux = lumen/m2

Colour temperature / tone of light Colour temperature describes the colour of light naturally radiated from lamps, characterised by the colour temperature, measured in (Kelvin). The Kelvin temperature scale begins at absolute zero, -273 Celsius, the lowest temperature known to exist. When a "blackbody" is slowly heated, it gradually changes from dark red to red, to orange, white and to pale blue. The higher the temperature, the whiter the colour of this blackbody becomes. A distinction must be drawn between warm-white and cool-white light. The light tone of a lamp only says something about the colour appearance of the light it gives but not about the colour-rendering quality of the light source.

Maximum permissible ambient temperature This is the temperature level up to which no components are thermally overloaded. Temperature reference point Denotes the temperature reference point on the housing surface which, if exceeded, reduces useful life. Safety extra-low voltage Safety class 1 Devices with earth conductor connection Equipment in which protection against electrical shock does not only rely on basic insulation. An additional measure of protection is given by connecting those conductive components to the protective earth conductor in the building wiring that are otherwise capable of assuming hazardous voltages if the basic insulation fails.
