Formulation of Checklist
Checklist was designed to identify Occupational Safety and Health Hazards in different studios of the Animation Industry here in the Philippines. The checklist was patterned to the workplace condition that have seen during the ocular visit to KorPhil - Information Technology.

Formulation of Checklist
Checklist was also formulated in accordance to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) set by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Part I. Premises of Establishments Rule 1060, OSHS


Building premises must have adequate fire, emergency or danger sign and safety instructions of standard colors and sizes visible at all times. Employer must provide workers with adequate comfort rooms, dressing and locker rooms for male and female workers.

Part II. Fire Protection and Control Rule 1940, OSHS


Employer should exert effort to protect their workers against fire and any hazard leading to it by providing fire protection system and following the regulations set by the various law enforcing unit.

Part III. Occupational Health and Environmental Control Rule 1070, OSHS
The employer must monitor the workplace environment in their premises hazard such as chemical, physical, biological and ergonomics hazards and maintain their concentration within the allowed TLVs.

Part IV: Materials Handling and Storage Rule 1150, OSHS


Employer must provide material handling equipments, secure storage, housekeeping facilities, and clearance limit.

Part V: Occupational Health Services Rule 1960, OSHS


The employer, workers, and their representatives, where they exist, shall cooperate and participate in the implementation of the organizational and other measures relating to occupational health services.

Observation

Observation
- Most of the workers were doing sketching in their houses. - Most of the animation studios were not registered to DOLE. - One studio adopts the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) of Malaysia.

Recommendations
As per rule 1020 of the OSHS employer shall register his business with the Regional Labor Office or Authorized representative having jurisdiction thereof to form part of a data bank of all covered establishments.
