NIKE Running and Digital Sports Brand Manager B.A., Journalism, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Career Transitions: Moved from fundraising and non-profits into the private sector and had to take a significant step backward in order to then build the experiences necessary in a new field to move into a more leadership-focused position over time.

Exact Sports Elite Prospect Camp, Program Manager B.A., Political Science, Minor in Business Administration, DePaul University Career Transitions: It is early in my career, but there are a couple of significant 'life' transitions that have influenced my career path. The first transition involved selecting a major and how I want to position myself for the job search post-graduation. The second major transition came postgraduation when I was deciding whether I wanted to work in a big organization or a small company.

Chicago Fire Soccer Club Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships B.A., Advertising/Public Relations, Penn State Career Transitions: After being in sports for six years with the Philadelphia Eagles, (and four years in college with Penn State Football) my husband and I moved to Madison, WI while he pursued his MBA at the University of Wisconsin. There wasn't a professional sports team in Madison, so my career took a completely different, but relevant and beneficial path as I worked in the tourism industry. As soon as we relocated to Chicago, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in sports again, and after considering many opportunities, I chose the Chicago Fire Soccer Club and Major League Soccer.
Stephanie Jensen
Intersport Director of Marketing & Ticket Sales B.A., Communications, Purdue University M.B.A., Integrated Marketing Communications, DePaul University Career Transitions: I stepped out of the sports industry for a few years while working at DePaul in order to work on my MBA (was enrolled in the part-time program, so took classes in the evening while working full-time). My current position allowed me to combine my experience while at the White Sox with the marketing skills/experience I gained during my time at DePaul.
Ashley Beirne
Red Frog Events Partnership Director B.A., Marketing Sales and Leadership & Sports Management, DePaul University Career Transitions: After more than three years at Red Frog Events I have had experience in all aspects of the business. When I started in January 2010, there were a total of four employees; therefore, I had to become a think-onmy-feet, multifaceted, young professional that would give anything a shot. I have had the opportunity to create an entire event merchandise store, race direct 2,500-25,000 people events, build internal broadcast marketing negotiations infrastructure, as well as conduct more than 500 interviews in a HR role, and creating and building up the partnership marketing department. Through all of those role transitions I was able to realize my true passion which is partnership marketing/sponsorship sales.
