WHO GOD CHOOSES 1Co 1 (26) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise

men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]: (27) But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; (28) And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: (29) That no flesh should glory in his presence. (30) But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (31) That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. This passage tells us who it is that God calls

If we are as we are on a mission Who would be the team of workers put together by God who would be the people God can use to reach our world or at least our part of the world? Who should we expect God to use? What kinds of people?Look at the people Jesus selected out of the whole human race of His day to be His To be His special people His disciples His chosen ones 1. WHO DOES GOD CHOOSE?

They were Ordinary Men. Not one of them was highly educated. In Acts 4:13 Peter and John were called unlearned and ignorant men. But it says the people marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. There was something radical. Something different about them. Could this be said of you? That there is nothing really that special about you of yourself? But that GOD is in you? You have been with Jesus. He has done something in your life.

Our text tells us that God has chosen THE FOOLISH THINGS of the world to put to shame the wise. The ones who the world regards as foolish and stupid. God chose one of the dumbest animals to represent Christians a sheep. They cant care for themselves and they go astray. They need a shepherds protection and care. Maybe He was trying to say something. I believe God has a sense of humour. Let us put aside our own wisdom and trust the Shepherd our Lord. Let us not pretend to know everything. I know nothing 1Co 2:2-3 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. (3) And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. The only thing we know is that we are sinners and Christ is a great saviour. God has chosen THE WEAK THINGS of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty The feeble, those without strength. Those who society overlooks, exploits and abuses. (Message) Paul said, 2Co 12:10 when I am weak, then am I strong.

David was weak, yet look what he did with Goliath! Because God was His strength. God has chosen THE BASE THINGS of the world and THE THINGS WHICH ARE DESPISED God has chosen, and THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT, to bring to nothing the things that are. The ordinary, the lowly, the insignificant, those who are looked down on. If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito. What a motley crew God uses through His word. Few are qualified or impressive to mans way of thinking God chooses the nobodies Paul was a murderer Rahab was a prostitute Noah was a drunk Joseph was abused Moses had a stuttering problem Gideon was afraid David had an affair and was a murderer Elijah was suicidal Jonah ran from God The Disciples fell asleep while praying

once Ordinary people. People with problems. People just like you and me. It does not matter what your past condition is God can use you. God can change you. There are 3 records of our past deeds in the world today. 1. First there is the record we carry in our mind. 2. Secondly, there is the record carried by all those who knew what we were before. 3. Third, there is the record carried by Satan, and he will throw your past up to you all the time. But, may I remind you today that even though I may remember my past, my friends and family may remember my past and even though Satan surely remembers my past, God in Heaven has forgotten my past and it is no obstacle to Him using me now or into the future! (Psa 103:12) As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (Isa 38:17) Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from

the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. (Isa 43:25) I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. God can bring A new beginning. Positive new directions. Another Quote Throughout the Bible, God used people in spite of, and after their greatest of failures. 1. Simon Peter preached his greatest message and had his greatest ministry after he denied the Lord. 2. Moses was a murderer, yet God used him for His glory. 3. Samson sinned against God, yet he slew more Philistines in the end of his life than he had during his entire ministry. 4. Abraham lied, yet he was used of the Lord. 5. Jacob was a deceiver, yet the Lord transformed and used him greatly. 6. There are many others that could be named among these, but these are sufficient to show that the Lord can take those who have failed in

the past and that He can still use them for His glory today, and into the future! (End Quote) God can use people who are foolish, weak, despised, nobodies Failures Ordinary people Average people God chooses people like you and me. 2. SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

You are the church Elizabeth needs! You offer and represent the Saviour Elizabeth needs! Sure, youre not perfect. But God can use you still! When you feel inadequate and unworthy, God can truly use you Just be the glove that His hand can fill Touch the aching and torn, and lift the fallen, and soothe the bruised, and share their pain J. I. M. Jesus in me Let the Jesus in you ooze out of you to others Attract people to Jesus. Care for people like Jesus would. Touch people like Jesus would. Do you want to be used? Will you let God use you? Will you let the Holy Spirit fill you and live out the life of Christ in you? Christianity is about God's people getting up and getting going, living the Life, imparting Him Who is Life, to the dying ones Caring,

Are you part of the mission force that God has selected out of the multitudes who are lost? We have been chosen called we have a mission it sometimes seems like Mission Impossible yet we have a mission to accomplish. Christ still wants the Christless ones the unloved, the unlovely the foolish, the despised, the derelict, the drunkards, the unwanted, the unworthy to come to Him. Christ still wants to enter into the broken homes and into the broken hearts. He longs to You are the missionaries Elizabeth needs! You are the super-heroes Elizabeth needs! You may look like the mild mannered Clark Kent, or Peter Parker. But you are a real super-hero, if you let the almighty power of God work in your life

compassionate. Doing what counts. Being there for people. Not getting caught up with all the peripheral things. Showing love and reaching out. There's so much need and how we need to care! Like someone says, they don't care how much you know, it's that they need to know how much you care! Let God use you You offer the lifeline that they need. Reach out! Reach out! It doesn't matter 1. Who you are 2. Where you came from 3. What problems you have 4. What personality quirks you exhibit 5. What your level of education 6. What you level of acceptance by others 7. God can and will use you if you will make yourself available to Him and His work! One of the main things to learn from this message today is to let God have the glory 1 Cor 1:31 He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. God can use the most unlikely of people.

What matters is that God gets all the credit and praise. Let us learn to be humble and usable in His hands 2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Let God have all the power and the glory in your life Let the glory of the Lord take over. Humble yourself. Give yourself completely over let God have all of you
