Russo Balt Wagon Factory was founded as Joint Stock Company. Main direction of manufacture was Luxury coaches for Russian Tsar.

D.A.R. was renamed to Automobile department of Russo Balt Wagon Factory

1869

It was decided to start cars production. Department was named Division Automobile Riga (D.A.R.)

Russo Balt or RBVZ - BTAZ automotive history has stopped working since last cars was launched in 1922 But other direction of Russo Balt JSC - Aero balt successfully continued to work. Now it is well known as spaceship factory - Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center.
