Ogni volta che lascio la citt dopo tanto tempo e rivedo il mare, come se ogni cosa si ridimensionasse di colpo. Il mare rallenta il ritmo dei pensieri, e la mente mette a fuoco.

E cos mi guardo intorno, in questo paesino arroccato sul mare del Sud Italia, e mi rendo conto di quanto la citt dopo un po ti annebbi, ti faccia perdere il centro delle cose. Qui non esiste il design, molti non sanno nemmeno che cos. Per puoi vedere un vecchio seduto allangolo di una strada che scolpisce il legno di un albero secolare, mentre

realizza il tagliere pi perfetto che tu abbia mai visto. E allora ti rendi conto che il design devessere proprio uno di citt, che probabilmente si dimenticato che esiste anche il mare.

ventura lambrate
Nonostante le guide della kermesse milanese del fuori salone 2013 abbiano segnalato centinaia e centinaia di eventi da non perdere, non c storia, Ventura Lambrate ha vinto su tutti. E cos, mentre il circuito di Zona Tortona ha nuovamente messo in scena un design annebbiato da fumi di hot dog e annacquato da rivoli di birra agli angoli della bocca e lungo i marciapiedi, con lunica eccezione dei nordici presentati al Superstudiopi, mentre Brera Distric ha allargato i suoi spazi e le proprie vetrine luccicanti creando unesposizione labirintica e vorticosa di prodotti da commercio, spesso nascosti dal corpo a corpo di presenzialisti dei party, Ventura Lambrate ha portato alla luce un design pulito, senza fronzoli, a volte sperimentale ma comunque sempre di respiro internazionale, ovvero quel confronto che tanto pu insegnare a noi italiani.

E cos vecchie officine, bar, piccoli negozi e i locali industriali di Ventura hanno accolto i progetti provenienti dalle accademie, i prototipi realizzati da talenti emergenti, senza trascurare i racconti dei processi creativi che mettono in connessione la tangibilit di un singolo prodotto con il potenziale commerciale del web. E voi, titolari dazienda e marketing manager vestiti danonimato potete stare tranquilli che anche a tarda notte, quando il buio confonde i volti, vi abbiamo riconosciuto per le strade di Ventura... bene, almeno sappiamo che la curiosit ancora work in progress!

The thimble is an object used for thousands of years, with different forms depending on the type of material to be sewn, adap ting as developmen t of the structure of the needle, this item had a strong meaning home.

Vito Nesta takes this object so geometric and so rich in history and gives it another identity, a cerami c vase, from the various colors tha t faithfully reproduces the thimble , with a larger size, becomes a poetic and ironic piece of furniture.

COSA SIGNIFICA REALIZZARE UN CATALOGO? NOI SI. ECCO PERCHE SIAMO ANDATI A SBIRCIARE SUL SET DI UNO DEI CATALOGHI APPENA USCITI...

IL SET

E davvero incredibile il lavoro che si cela dietro alla realizzazione di un catalogo. Innanzitutto la preparazione del set, il luogo dove vengono create le ambientazioni per fotografare i prodotti, richiede che montatori, elettricisti e personale tecnico lavorino in sinergia con fotografo, stylist, designer e responsabili delle aziende coinvolte per creare quel mood, quellatmosfera che tanto ci fa sognare sfogliando un catalogo. I complementi vengono quindi posizionati allinterno del set secondo il progetto fornito, in seguito si procede alla pulizia e al posizionamento dei vari oggetti che conferiranno allimmagine lidea di uno spazio vissuto, reale. A questo punto si procede allo studio della luce e delle varie inquadrature e, una volta trovato il giusto equilibrio tra i due, il fotografo scatta. In seguito, le immagini cos ottenute vengono eleborate al cumputer e re s e d i s p o n i b i l i p e r e s s e re impaginate... ed ecco il catalogo pronto da sfogliare!

Lo studio scandinavo Claesson Koivisto Rune affronta il tema della prefabbricazione in legno con piglio grafico, disegnando una casa apparentemente archetipica che diviene iconica grazie al volume delle copertura fortemente inclinata ma tagliata in cima per riprendere il tipico paesaggio montuoso svedese.

Le facciate rifiutano la punteggiatura pi o meno casuale delle tradizionali finestre per ospitare invece grandi aperture a tutta altezza.

Gli interni sono organizzati secondo lelegante buon senso del design scandinavo, dove il disegno degli spazi e la risposta ad esigenze e comportamenti trovano una sintesi tanto naturale quanto formalmente efficace. Il living totalmente aperto e in comunicazione con langolo cucina, mentre ai piani superiori trovano posto le camere da letto.

The Revolution of the Diffused Furniture Factory Il mondo profondamente cambiato ed ora di cambiare anche le tradizionali modalit di produzione e distribuzione dei prodotti. Da questa convinzione partita nel 2011 lavventura di Slowd, piattaforma web che in nome della sostenibilit ambientale e dellottimizzazione dei processi punta a far viaggiare i progetti e non i prodotti. Per fare ci ha messo a punto un sistema peer-to-peer che mette in comunicazione i progetti dei designers con la capacit realizzativa degli artigiani sparsi sul territorio. Si crea cos una vera e propria fabbrica diffusa che permette allutente di farsi realizzare il prodotto scelto dallartigiano pi vicino, rendendo concreto il concetto di Design a Chilometro Zero.

Una ferrea disciplina La vera qualit, la cultura nasce dalla fatica, dal lavoro. Dallapplicazione costante e sensibile delle esperienze, che non sono il frutto di chiss quale intuito, della cosiddetta creativit, ma di un metodo che si assimila nel tempo. Enzo Mari riassume cos lessenza del design, allontanandolo dal puro esercizio formale ed avvicinandolo alle virt dellimpegno, della costanza e del saper fare. Di questo parla anche Discipline, un marchio che, giocando a carte scoperte fin dal nome stesso, del rigore fa il suo vanto. Il design si spoglia delle cifre stilistiche per far ritorno al suo obiettivo originario: risolvere i problemi quotidiani, attraverso la bellezza, larmonia ed il buon senso. Qualit queste che si ritrovano nello spazio di via Mascagni allestito in occasione del Fuorisalone 2013: semplici elementi geometrici ed ordinati ricorsi grafici caratterizzano un percorso ricavato allinterno di un giardino che ci porta lontano anni luce dalla frenesia della settimana milanese. Qui troviamo esposti i progetti di 17 designer da 9 nazioni differenti che lavorano con 7 materiali naturali per creare una collezione beautifully designed and consciously made.

Dal waterfront di Williamsburg, camminando verso est

per un solo isolato ci si imbatte in una struttura di otto piani: il Wythe Hotel. U n a e x fa b b r i c a d i b o t t i p e r l A b i r r a , c o s t r u i ta n e l 1 9 0 1 , s tata meticolosamente riconvertita in un albergo contemporaneo di 72 camere. Dal corpo principale originario di mattoni rossi, con ingresso ad angolo convesso su cui campeggia la scritta HOTEL realizzata come pa t c h w o r k d i v e c c h i e i n s e g n e pubblicitarie, allincrocio tra Wythe A venue e 11ma strada a Brooklyn, svetta il nuovo intervento in ferro e vetro. Questo tipo di tecnologia, con le vetrate a doppia altezza, garantisce alle nuove camere una vista unica, senza soluzione di continuit, dello skyline mozzafiato di Manhattan e dellEast river.newyorkese.
