May 2013

Dear Friend, Greetings from everyone at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Torrington, CT. The Lord is moving by His Spirit! It's wonderful to gather at the church to worship with others of like precious faith, but above every friend, program, or ministry the main focus of the church service is the Lord Jesus Christ! He is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus is the beginning and the end of our walk with God. This is a day we must keep our faith: the faith that was once delivered to the saints from the beginning of the Gospel. There is a verse of Scripture that is going over in my heart today that has given me the victory many times throughout the years. Psalm 16:8 says, I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. David didn't wait for others to do this for him. He daily set the Lord before him. He made the Lord the focal point of his life. Even when he thought he knew what to do he always consulted the Lord. The Bible says if we acknowledge the Lord in all our ways, He will direct our paths. David set the Lord always before him. It was when David didn't do this that he got into the biggest troubles of his life! A lot of people are troubled and it seems like the smallest things cause their character to change. But if you will set the Lord before you every day, you will not be moved! I have heard some people say that if they serve God they couldn't be who they really are. But this is not true. The Lord never takes from your personality: He enhances it by removing the things that cause you to stray from the right paths. Those things usually are sins we keep holding on to. And the Bible says He adds more grace to help us walk for Him each day! He actually gives us the ability to walk right, think right, and be right if we will set Him before us! The Bible says he is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us. What is working in you? Is it the thought of failure? Are feelings of unworthiness or inadequacies controlling your way of thinking? Set the Lord always before you each morning. He will cause those things to be changed in you and will liberate you on the inside! But remember: only

you can pray and begin a relationship with God. He is waiting for you to draw near to Him. He has made Himself available but you must come to Him. Jesus said these words, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Where I come from all ye meant you, me, and everybody else! You and me have that offer from God to come to Him by faith. The power of change is in how we choose. The Lord will take care of the details. But the change comes when we set the Lord before us and allow Him to lead and guide our lives. Real faith in God does not change because of the circumstances or situations. Real faith in God does not change because of what a person sees or hears or thinks. But Christ in us, who is our faith, rises up even in the most impossible situation and changes the course of events for us. Don't ever let facts cloud your eyes form the truth! What I mean by that is the facts say one thing but faith in God may be saying something else. For example: the fact is that I was a sinner, but the truth is Jesus Christ saved me from my sins! The fact of your situation does not take from the truth that Christ can change your situation. I can still do all things through Christ which strengthens me! He is my strength when I am weak. He is my health when sickness and weakness is all around me. He is the victory in every battle. Whatever you are facing today, let me encourage you to set the Lord ever before you. He will see to it that you won't be moved for He will fight your battles! May God bless you this month. Let me invite you to our church.
