Romania is the most important producing country in East and Central Europe, excepting the Russia Federation, Romania offers numerous opportunities for cooperation in the petroleum sectors, both for exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, as participation in bidding rounds organized by NAMR, under the prevision of the Petroleum Law, association with the current title holders or assignment of the concession agreements; based on a long experience in the petroleum sector the foreign companies involved in Romania benefit from the experience and professional skills of specialists and service companies covering geological and geophysical exploration, lab determination, drilling, oil and gas production, petroleum engineering and other activities connected to the petroleum sector; the oil and gas pipeline network cover large areas of the country, making possible the connection with low expenses of the new discovered fields to the transportation system; even the earlier discovery of the most important fields determined a high rate of depletion and even that the new discovers do not compensate entirely the consumption, Romania can be characterized as an important country from the point of view of petroleum prospctivity; even the earlier discovery of the most important fields determined a high rate of depletion and even that the new discovers do not compensate entirely the consumption, Romania can be characterized as important country from the pint of view of petroleum prospctivity; Romania, due to its favorable geographical location and the facilities offered by the petroleum terminal and the existing pipelines gives the opportunity to actively participate in the regional transit of petroleum resources, in two important projects: Constanta Trieste, named PEOP, for crude oil and Nabuco for natural gas.
