Seeing is Believing!
Has somebody ever told you something that you just couldnt believe?
Today we remember St. Thomas, a saint of our Church, who heard something he just had to see to believe. Last Sunday we celebrated the biggest, best holiday of the year, Easter...or Pascha, the day when Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Many people had heard that Christ had risen. In the evening of that day, Jesus disciples were all together, hiding in a locked room. They were together.all except for Thomas. When they were there, Christ came to them and said Peace be with you! Later, the disciples told their friend, Thomas, We have seen the Lord! But he didnt believe them! It was such an incredible story, he just had to see Jesus to really believe that He had really risen. Then a week later, the disciples were all together again, and this time Thomas was there too. Christ came again to them, and said, Peace be with you! Christ

invited him to touch Him, so that Thomas could really know that it was Christ. Then Thomas believed. My Lord and my God! he cried. Sometimes people blame St. Thomas for not having enough faith. But isnt St. Thomas really like us sometimes? Sometimes we forget all the wonderful things that God has done for us, and we forget to thank Him! Sometimes we forget all the miracles God has done, and we forget to pray to Him! Sometimes our faith starts out like St. Thomass faith. After the Resurrection, St. Thomas went on to become an amazing saint in our Church. He traveled outside the Roman Empire, and he told many many people about ChristHis life, His death, His rising from the dead, and that He will come again someday. He traveled throughout the Middle East, and he even went as far as India. Let us all try to have faith as strong as the faith of St. Thomas! He really knew and believed that CHRIST IS RISEN!
