FOOTING DESIGN A lot of excell sheets and ready made tables are available for design of Isolated Footing.

A typical excell sheet is enclosed for your reference. For various load combination for Staad result you have to use some other developed excell sheets. For manual design of footing, it is very simple. Area of footing = Axial Load/SBC of soil From area you can decide size of footing. The sizes will be 1000mm to 3000mm in multiples of 250mm. For assuming depth of footing, thumb rules are availble. Depth of footing=650 x a where a is projection of footing in metre. Depth is in mm. Depth should not be less than 300 mm at near column face. Maximum depth near column face varies from 500mm to 1000mm in multiples of 50mm. Depth can also be calculated based on SBC of soil. SBC D/A value 5 t/m2 1/7 10t/m2 1/5.5 15t/m2 1/5.0 20t/m2 1/4.5 25t/m2 1/4.0 30t/m2 1/3.5 where D is depth of footing and A is average side of footing. For sloped or stepped footing increase depth value by 20%. Reinforcement minimum 10 mm dia Spacing will be 150mm C/c up to 2.0 m width of footing use 10 dia above 2.0m below 3.0m use 12mm Dia above 3.0m width use 16mm dia rod.
