Dynamic Tone file loading guide for UMG8900

1. Before loading the tone file, convert the format of all the loaded tone file
(1) Get the tone file of *.wav format from IN site. (2) Convert the *.wav format to *.pcm format as following. Sample rate: 8000 Hz Channel: mono Resolution: 8 bits Format: A-Law

(3) convert the *.pcm format to *.stf format This part has been finished.

2. Load the tone file to UMG8900 according to the following procedure.


Doing this operation must be during the period of lest tone traffic. (1). LST TONEFILE; // have a record of existent tone file. (2). Set the FTP server information on the terminal PC with the ftp tool wftpd32. //Account: bam //Password: bam //Loading source directory: C:\bam (3). Establish the loading source directory: C:\bam\bin\tonepatch Copy all the loaded tone file with *.stf format to this directory. (4). Load tone file to the OMU Bam from the terminal PC. LOD TOBAM; // in UMG8900 LMT //Version type: Dynamic Tone file //File name : default is all the tone file in above directory //Server IP Address: the terminal PC IP address. //User name: bam // password: bam

(5) check the tone file that have been loaded to the OMU Bam. LST TONEFILE; // in UMG8900 LMT //check the loaded file is in the OMU bam. //compare the name and size of all the loaded file in OMU with the tone file in the terminal PC and record in step (1). (6) synchronize the master OMU board and the slave OMU board. SYC BAMFILE; // 7Isolate the TCB board that need to be loaded tone file. If there are several TCB boards, we can just operate one at the same time. When finish the loading and the board work normally, then start another TCB boards. This operation has no affection on the online subscriber, and the new income traffic will accessed by the other TCB boards.. //Isolate the specific TCB board use the right click of the mouse on the TCB GUI platform. And wait for 1 minute. (8) Load the tone tone file to the TCB board from the OMU bam. In the living network, we load only one tone file to TCB board at one time. LOD TONE; in the UMG8900 LMT. //fill the position of the isolated TCB board. // fill in the loaded dynamic tone file name, without any directory information. The red part should be executed so many times as the number of loaded tone files. 9CHK TONE; Verify the result. All the result is match YES //Activate the TCB board. Repeat the operation on other TCB boards from the step (5) step (8), till all the TCB boards have been loaded.

3. Make call to test whether the loaded tone file is effective.

4. If loading is not success, to roll back as following procedure.


If the loaded tone file is not effective. It means the loading is not success. Then need roll back to

the original case. 1RBK TONE; // in UMG8900 LMT // delete the tone file in the HD: YES is to restore the tone file in TCB, and delete the tone file in the OMU bam; NO is to restore the tone file in the TCB board, and keep the tone file in the OMU bam; if we are sure that those tone file is useless, then we can delete it from OMU bam with the selection of YES; to avoid the wrong loading in the later work. 2CHK TONE ; to check whether the file is deleted and the tone file has been restored. 3make call test again.
