Policy Guidelines

1. The minimum fee is the fee recommended by the Malaysian dental Association for the practice of safe and proper dentistry without compromising on quality of dental care. 2. It is impractical to set a fee across the board for a dental procedure because there are so many variables involved. Dentists are allowed to charge higher fees but are advised to inform patient before commencing the treatment and are duty bound to observe prevailing professional ethical considerations. 3. The treatment procedures listed are by no means exhaustive but are in line with the Private healthcare Facilities and Services Regulations 2006. Any treatment procedures not listed in this Scale of fees are by no means inappropriate. 4. The Classsification of simple or complex cases is dependent on the technical difficulty, site, local factor , access, age, health factor and any other factors which may influence the management as well as time taken to complete the procedure. This depends on the judgement of the dentist concerned. 5 Prepared by the Malaysian Dental Association with contributions from Malaysian Private Dental Practitioner Association, Malaysian Endodontic Society, Malaysian Association of Aesthetic Dentistry, Malaysian Association of oral-Maxillofacial Surgery, Malaysian Association of Orthodontists, Malaysian Oral Implant Association, Malaysian Association of Prosthodontics.
