AEROGENERATOR

Aerogenerator is an electric generator which is moved by the action of the wind. In this case, wind energy, in fact kinetic energy of the air in movement, it provides mechanical energy to a rotor helix that, to traverse of a mechanical system of transmission, it rotates the rotor of a generator, that turns the rotational mechanical energy electrical energy. Nowadays is using at wind Energy that is to clean Energy because giftt produces any pollution.

Can be use alone or in aeolic parks like in the picture

HORIZONTAL AEROGENERATOR
The main parts of a horizontal aerogenerator of axis are:

Rotor: is designed to transform the kinetic energy of wind in torque in the axis of the equipment. The modern rotors can to arrive to have a diameter of 42 to 80 meters and get powers equivalent to several MW. The speed of rotation is normally limited by the tip speed, whose present limit it establishes by acoustic criteria. Box of gears or multiplier: They transform the low speed of the axis of rotor in high speed of rotation in the axis of the generator. Generator: Types exist different depending the design of the aerogenerator. They can be synchronous or asynchronous, with exitacin or permanent magnets. The tower: the generator to a greater height locates where winds are of greater intensity and transmits the loads of the equipment to ground. System of control: person in charge by the efficient insurance and operation of the equipment, controls the direction of the gondola, position of the shovels and the total power.

CARACTERISTICS
Are different types of Aerogeneators, depending on their power, the disposition of their axis of rotation exist, the type of generating etc. Aerogenerators can work of the isolated or grouped way in Aeolian parks or plants of Aeolian generation The aerogenerators must be equipped with a synchronization system because the frequency of generating have to same the network, (in Spain 50 Hertz). In general the best zones of winds are in the coast, where the thermal currents of air between the sea and the Earth; the great continental plains, for similar reasons; and the mountainous zones, where effects of local acceleration take place. The modern aerogenerators of horizontal axis are designed to work with speeds average of the wind that vary between 3 and 24 m/s. The aerogenerator begins producing electrical energy when the wind speed surpasses the speed of connection and, as the wind speed increases

A system of control of the speeds of rotation is necessary so that, in case of excessively strong winds, that could put in danger the installation.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

This type of generators are one clean source of renewable energy, because dont produce any pollution. The maintenance isnt so much. They can cause a visual impact and an intense noise generated by the shovels. Another problem is the death of birds. The cost of electrical generation by means of aerogenerators oscillates at the present time between the 0.04 /kWh and the 0.06 /kWh. The mounting is complicate because require a trucks an gruas
