The many different degree opportunities, the excellent art programs, and the affordable cost are what encouraged me to choose Princeton University. This university offers many different things such as many fields of study, small classes for superb learning, many employee benefits, various student services, and natural beauty such as nice scenery, lots of trees, green grass; many bushes and shrubs. The university also has a high graduation rate of 87 percent. This university is located in Princeton, NJ a small city with low crime rate, a favorable median income, and many fun activities to do with the whole family such as going to amusement parks, hiking, visiting local parks, and venturing into the forest. Princeton offers many different degrees in arts, science in engineering, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences as well as architecture, finance, public affairs and public policy. There are degrees for undergraduates, graduates, masters, and doctoral education available in all disciplines. The small classes allow one on one learning with the professor in order to better comprehend the lessons, and students will be able to work more efficiently in small groups. The high graduation rate gives a sense of security in knowing that you will most likely graduate. This university has a commendable art program. In the Lewis Center for the Arts there is creative writing, dance, theaters, and visual arts. There is a Department of Music which focuses on performance, and musicology. The Committee for Film Studies encourages the study of films and video. There is also an architecture school and art and archaeology department. This school has The University Art Museum which is one of the nations leading art museums, with collections of more than 72,000 works of art spanning the globe. The University library system offers research materials and exhibitions: the Marquand Library of Art and Archaeology, The Mendel Music Library and Graphic Arts Collection also illuminate study of the arts. Also, student literary publications and student videos offer creative outlets for students to express and share their work. Princeton has affordable tuition, room charge, board rate, miscellaneous expenses, and over all great pricing for students. The tuition is lower than other universities and is at $40,170. The room charge is also lower than other universities and is at $7,220. The board rate isnt that expensive in comparison to other schools and is at $5,860. The miscellaneous expenses are expenses such as toiletries, food, clothes, transportation, and entertainment and are estimated at about $3,500. The good thing about Princeton is that there is a financial aid available, and payment option available. The school also offers affordable student services such as university health services, appointments, medical services, counseling & psychological services, health promotion and wellness services, sexual harassment/assault advising resources and education, life insurance, and dental and vision plans. Princeton is not only affordable but it also has many benefits for its employees. Some of these benefits are health and life insurance coverage, pension benefits, flexible spending accounts, income protection for short/long-term disabilities, benefits for employee education and dependent tuition grants. In conclusion I choose Princeton mainly because of its many degree opportunities, excellent art programs, and affordable cost. I also choose it because it offers small classes, the many benefits, services, and natural beauty. The city is small, pretty safe, and with a good median income. It has many fun activities for everybody to enjoy.
