Background
Luke OBrien and I initially pitched for the Leeds College of Art prospectus but were later paired with Max and Niall. Although our concept was received well, they preferred the layout of the designs pitched by the other pair. The LCA marketing department believed it to be best to combine these two aspects and have 4 people working together.

Initial pitch
Mine and Lukes initial pitch was more prominantly centered on the concept as opposed to the final resolution. The cover simply displayed the statement DO YOU KNOW WHO WE ARE, set in gold foil on purple stock. This question would be subsequently anwered withinProspectus the following Pitch spreads, through headers and 2013 additional statement pages. We tried to ensure a refined and concise layout to create a balanced aesthetic with plenty of negative space.
Our college is a thriving community of experimental and radical people creating and doing all kinds of amazing things. This needs to be shouted, it needs to be celebrated. (Hence the purple and gold)

Do You Know Who We Are?

Throughout the publication we will set out to answer the question on the cover using clean and simple layouts with typographic inserts to break up the content, always reminding the reader of the vibrant and experimental tone of voice.

Layout development
The publication is still in development and we hope to have it finished over the next couple of months. We are currently working towards a finalised layout order and are in the process of sourcing all the photographs with the help of photographer, Ben Harris. The layout is derived from the designs Max and Niall created for their initial pitch this is accompanied by the statement pages derived from our concept. With the photography, we wanted to portray a documentary and natural aesthetic to showcase life through a students eyes. These are the spreads I worked on using the layout template Max devised.
