Unit 7. Reection, Planning and Presentation


Brief

Introduction
This brief will run alongside your personal research project and should be handed in together with your Unit 8 submission on Wednesday 22nd May 2012 at 10am.

Required assessment evidence


1. Development le or notebook Including action plans/ seminar notes/ assessment records/ timetables/ tutorial notes all of the material that you have collected collated in an appropriate format and order. 2. Personal research project evaluation and post graduation plan (800-1000 words) How successful was your project? How might you do it differently? Did your research affect the outcomes? Was the research appropriate and thorough enough? What skills did you develop? Are there any areas of the project your would like to explore further? What did you learn? What career plans do you have? Where do you see yourself working? How do you intend to go about this? What form should your folio take? How do you intend to promote yourself? . . . . . 3. A hardcopy C.V. and the corresponding digital version. A professionally designed, discipline specic CV/promotional item nished and ready to send out to prospective clients and employers. 4. Personal Directions Presentation A professional 10 minute visual and verbal presentation of your personal research project and a postgraduation plan. You must make this presentation on Tue 22nd May at 10am.

UNIT 7. Reection, Planning and Presentation: UAL Assessment Criteria


Subject Knowledge: Understanding and application of subject knowledge and underlying principles Analysis: Examination and interpretation of resources Personal and Professional Development: Management of learning through reection, planning, self direction, subject engagement and commitment Communication and Presentation: Clarity of purpose; skills in the selected media; awareness and adoption of appropriate conventions; sensitivity to the needs of the audience

5. Contextual statement (500 words) A short statement describing the context of the work you do. How is you work relevant to the contemporary creative industries? How have you thought about and developed your work in a professional context? Who are your audience? What areas of the industry is your work tailored towards? Are there skills you are particularly good at which will help your work and career to develop? Are there areas, techniques and skills which you need to improve in order to get work? How will your work t into a BA programme of study? What do you offer? . . . . .
