GENERAL CUSTOMER INFORMATION Safety related information are indicated by pictograms as follows: Warning! Ignoring safety information can endanger life or result in serious injury!

Caution! Ignoring safety information can result in injury to persons or damage to machinery or other materials! Take care! Ignoring safety information can result in damage to machinery or other materials!

1.)

PREPARING THE BOILER FOR TRANSPORTATION Unpack the boiler and dispose of all packing and storage protection material according to the demands of environmentally friendly processing. If the boiler shall not be unpacked totally because of a certain time span between installation of boiler and installation of exhaust gas duct / surrounding structure, remove the packing material at least at the lifting lugs and around the boiler foundation. Take care ! After removal of packing material check the exhaust gas inlet and outlet chambers for accessories stowed inside for transport reasons.

Carefully depressurize and subsequently vent the water/steam space in case the boiler had been prepared for long-term storage by pressurized nitrogen filling. Warning! If the boiler had been filled with nitrogen under pressure, a substantial overpressure may build up inside the boiler in case the boiler is exposed to a source of heat and to direct sun radiation. Sudden opening of any blinded connection on the boiler body may lead to rapid expansion of the contained gas.

Check the fixing screws/bushings of the counter plates which are delivered pre-mounted to the boiler feet. If bushings are mounted, the base plates are fixed in final location and can be welded without readjustment.

If the M10 fixing screws are moving only by applying strong force this is a sign for misalignment of the counter plates. In such case loosen and remove the fixing screws and subsequently realign the counter plates before placing the boiler in its final position. Otherwise the fixing screws may not be removed any more once the boiler is in place.

TRANSPORT OF BOILER TO FINAL POSITION AND ADJUSTMENT IN PLACE 2a) Horizontal designs CMB-HF and EME-HST

General arrangement of lifting lugs (on example CMB-HF boiler, EME-HST is similar)

Warning! Before lifting the boiler in any case check the lifting instructions provided with the working drawings for center of gravity coordinates and actual load distribution on the lugs - Lift the boiler off the transport support (if applied) - Move the boiler to intended final location - Lower the boiler to about 50 mm above supporting structure - Check again the fixing screws as described in 1.) - If the counter plates are still in good alignment (fixing screws moving when light force applied), check alignment to exhaust gas duct and ships axis and lower the boiler until the counter plates rest on deck - Fill in the inevitable distance between each counter plate and the supporting structure by adding lining plates or strips until the boiler rests firmly on all 4 feet - Check again the fixing screws as described in 1.) - If fixing screws still move by slight force, weld the counter plates and linings to the supporting structure, if not, realign the counter plates. - Remove the fixing screws/bushings and seal the holes in foot plates by welding or by inserting of appropriate screws shortened to 10mm thread length
