Logistics Support Options

UN Civilian support
direct control easily adjusted to specific requirements can operate in all but the most hostile environments

But can take time to assemble required personnel, equipment & establish itself Commercial support
comes fully staffed and equipped;

But takes time to conclude contractual arrangements. Commercial support cannot always be relied upon in hostile conditions Limitations on capacity Military support
can operate under the hostile conditions can be mobilized relatively quickly

However, they may not be fully equipped Their rotation schedules often affect support continuity Their support can be expensive Force generation can be problematic

Mission Support Overview

Sustainment Requirements:
Fuel Contract: In place and operational. Substantial storage capacity at certain locations and delivered to team sites on a weekly basis. Rations Contract: Fresh and frozen Rations being delivered on a weekly basis to all team sites. Warehousing and reserve capabilities at certain locations. Stock: 14 days reserve rations stocks in all the warehouses, in addition to sufficient operational stocks. Bottled Water: Rations contractor also supports the storage and delivery of strategic bottled water reserves.

Water resources:
All the existing sector HQs and team sites have COE water treatment plants (WTP). New TCCs are requested to bring their WTP. The advance party should set up WTP before the main body arrives.

Movement
Strategic Movement is the movement of personnel and/or their equipment between their home countrys national mounting base and/or their sea and airports of embarkation, and the UN mission area of operations (AO). Tactical (Mission Level) Movement is the movement of personnel and/or their equipment from major points of entry (i.e. air and sea ports) to destinations within a UN mission area of operations (AO). Mission level movement control sections are responsible for organizing and executing intramission (and limited inter-mission) movement control of personnel and equipment.
