    InAct2Scene1,AbigailisspeakingwithJohnProctorassheyells,Untilthelasthypocriteis dead(Miller).NobetterwaytotakerevengeisthesoleideaAbigailhasinherinsanemind.At thispointAbigailhasbeengivensomuchcredibilitythatsheabusesherpowerjusttogetback atherenemies.Nomatterhowawfulyourenemyispowershouldbeusedresponsibly.Thiscan referbacktohowtheclasswouldaccusetheirenemyforhavingadeephateforthem,but powercanbecorruptedbyemotionswhichiscreatedinAct2Scene1.Abigailfeltabused herselfbyElizabethProctorforbeingworkedtothebone,andbeinginthewaybetween AbigailsandJohnProctorsrelationship,sosheusedthesefeelingswithinherrageofpower. PowercanalsobemisusedwithinthecourtbecauseDanforthandHathorneabusetheir

    positionsincourt.InAct2Scene2Mr.ProctorbringsapetitiontosaveMs.Rebeccasigned with91namesfromthevillage.ThenMr.ParrishastheindecencytoyellbacktoMr.Proctor, Thesepeopleshouldbesummonedforquestioningthisisaclearattackuponthecourt! ThenlaterHathorneagreesashesays,Ithinktheyoughttobeexamined,sir.Thismeansthat thecourtbelievestobesuperiortothecitizensinthevillageeventhoughthegovernment shouldupholdtothemajorityvote.Governmentisasocialcontractbasedonthepeople,and thegovernmentshouldmakefairlawsbasedonthepeople,butthisisnotthecase.Danforth andHathornehavepowerinthecourt,andmostlikelyappointedintoofficebythepeople;

    nevertheless,thesepositionsaremeanttoupholdjustice,butneitherofthesecharacterswant tofollowthepeople.Theyabusetheirpowertogetittheirwayalsoknownasselfishpricks. TofurtherexplaintheirmisuseofpowerDanforthisthesupremedecisionforthetrials

    asheisthetopjudge.Afterwardsinthesamescene,Danforthispredominatelyplacinghimself aboveallashestates,apersoniseitherwiththiscourtorhemustbecountedagainstit. Meaningthatpeopledonothaveachoiceinthematterbetweenbeinginnocent,guilty,or pledgesilence.Theaccusedareplacedguiltybecauseofinsanepowerclassifiedthemasa criminalbasedonbiblicalperspectives.ThepowerforMr.Danforthwasbestoweduponhimto putastoptothesewitchtrails,buthehimselfgoesinsanewithpowerforhefalselyaccuses Mr.Coreyforjustbeingsilent.Mr.Coreyhastherighttostaysilent,andshouldntbeaccused forbeingsilent.Nowthatgoesagainsttheconstitutionandnothingissuperiortothe constitutionyetMr.DanforthhastheabusivepowertojailMr.Coreywhichhedid. Inconclusion,Powerismisusedbecauseitisbestoweduponthepeoplewhobelieveit

    wasdeserved,butinrealityitwasprivilege.ForAbigail,Danforth,andHathornepowerisjust anotherplaytoy.TheycanbereferredtoasMcCarthyhimselfforabusingtheirpowerintimes ofgreatfear.
