Application of Traditional Games In Mathematics Learning Kindergarten

Parents are often confused to make children study hard and not fun to play. While education specialist stated that playing is of benefit to the child. Especially during childhood are considered as The Golden Age. Playing is the best way for children to develop all abilities. Games can make children acquire and process information to learn new things and training through existing skills. Games for early childhood is a game that can stimulate creativity and fun for children. In learning in kindergarten has started to be introduced to the concepts of mathematics. Traditional games such us angklik and congklak is the best learning resource in the development of mathematics. Because, learning mathematics for children must be tailored to the childs mental development. In the game angklik, students can learn about mathematical concepts such as the concept of number (summing and subtracting), geometric concept, the concept of estimation, and the concept of measurement. This game can be done at least 2 and at most 6-10 children. How to play angklik is : 1. Using white or colored chalk to draw a game arena. 2. Using critical breakdown or gaco as a play. 3. Game is done by suit and gambreng. 4. The first player throws gaco in box number 1. 5. The first player stepped on box number 2,3,4, and so in a way engkle (suspend one of this legs). 6. Players take gaco in box number 1 and jump the box number 1, back in the starting position and the next. The concept of number seen when children jump boxes that were given number. Geometrical concept can be seen that children can distinguish shapes rectangular, square, half-round, While the concept of estimation seen when children throw the gaco accurately estimate means the child could well. And measurement concept can be seen that the child can distinguish the size (large, long, short, large, and small). While the congklak game, children can learn about counting, reduction, division and multiplication. In this game needed an oval track that there are rows of holes. Each holes depth of

2 cm and a diameter of 6 cm lined up in pairs. Total hole usually 5-9 pairs plus 1 hole each end of the row sight. Games typically use seeds, sea shells, pebbles as congklak seed. Total abundance of seeds hanging hole, 5 hole then suppose every hole filled 5 grains. The concept of summation, reduction, division, and multiplication seen when children divide congklak seeds into each hole and when the game, children will do the calculations that win. Basically traditional children's games were explored from Indonesian culture has a high educational value, the values of the system load value according to the culture of the nation. But today this traditional gradually replaced by a form of the game that comes from the outside, which is a result of advances in science and technology. Traditional games like angklik and congklak contains rules that must be followed if the child / player, where this rule can train children to use reasoning. This reasoning is a line of thought that is based on mathematical thinking. So by developing traditional games in mathematics learning can triggers a love child of the culture and make a child interested in learning mathematics.
