• Keynote Presentation
Enhancing Performance in an Uncertain World
Magne Setnes, Manager Supply Chain Control, Heineken Group Supply Chain
By examining the global nature, size, and complexity of Heineken’s Dutch operations,
Dr. Setnes will identify and explore some of the major types of uncertainties currently
confronting Heineken’s global enterprise, such as upstream material sourcing and in-
bound management; production and product sourcing management; and downstream
demand uncertainties. A discussion of successes and lessons learned illustrates how
the company is continuing to improve its operations by advancing collaboration, plan-
ning, and green issues.
Many managers have a difficult time determining what should be outsourced, how to
select the best provider, and how to manage the resulting relationship. In this session,
outsourcing risks will be examined and practical advice on avoiding unpleasant sur-
prises will be shared.
In this session, attendees will hear how Ford operates effective service parts procure-
ment in an original equipment automotive environment by applying strategic and tactical
tools. They will also learn how service parts purchasing can achieve good results with
suppliers as a minority player together with the bigger original equipment purchasing
activities.
