Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to

My words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;
for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body.

It may have been a sad day in the school canteens the hour Jamie Oliver
declared war on junk food...but here's the thing, he was doing it for the
children’s own benefit. We need to be careful what we digest. It's not just
our stomachs either, we need to watch what we feed our brains.
Our favourite mags may give us the lowdown on what's hot and what's
not, but there's not enough substance their to sustain us. Our spiritual lives
need a good dose of iron and all the right ingredients. We need to tuck into
our Bibles for a healthy meal.
It's a diet of
a) POWER. Read Luke 4 to understand the power of Jesus' Word. It's a
healthy tale of forces submitting to God's Word
b) FORCE. '...by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was
formed...' (2 Peter 3:5 NIV). God didn't call in the builders when He
made the world, His Word alone was enough to create all that exists
c) LIFE. 'The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are
life' (John 6:63 NIV). When you eat the Word of God, it can't just sit
there and do nothing, it comes to life. It gets to work in you and starts
to produce results.

So don't just sit there drooling, tuck in, feed yourself with the Word.
