Humans in the Sublime

For Frankenstein Atomic Frontier

All Human life is extinct, right? Sure! But theres a big difference between total extinction, functional extinction and pseudo extinction. Total extinction means there would be no examples of the Human species in its widest sense left in the Sublime. And while Mexican Hitlers, Vampires and those lovable Frankenstein creations; Adams are all human in only a loose sense, they are descendants of the Human species (Mexican Hitlers being cloned from a specific Human, Vampires once having been Human and Adams being made from Humans). So long as an example of the species remains, no matter how weird or far flung, total extinction is just not the case. Functional and pseudo extinction are different stories. Pseudo extinction means that there are zero living members of the root mainstream species left, while its numerous offshoots remain. In this case, this would mean that while Adams and other such creatures roam across the sublime, there are no Humans left. Functional extinction is a different story altogether. Under functional extinction there isnt a sizable breeding population of the extinct species left. But it doesnt deny that individual members and even small breeding populations of the extinct species are out there. In the case of the Sublime this could mean that well hidden bunkers, deep vaults, secluded wildernesses, labyrinthine ruins and so on house small populations of Humans. For such creatures the Sublime is a terrifyingly dangerous place populated with creations of mad science who want little more than to chop you up for spare Parts. So which is it? Functional or Pseudo? Up to you, Mister Game Master
