Software upgrade procedure is detailed further this document (refer to sec 13). Notes regarding ODU versions: The 1500P IDUs can work with Sagem Link A1500 ODUs and 1500P ODUs. There are different SW versions for the different ODUs. When upgrading an ODU, file with the extension ".odu" should be selected when the ODU is connected to a Sagem Link A1500/1528 IDU and file with the extension ".odn" should be selected when connected to a 1500P IDU. 1500HP RFUs can be connected only to 1500P IDUs. 1500HP RFUs have ODC software and RFU firmware versions. 1500P 11GHz The 1500P 11GHz ODU requires O5.52g SW file. This version is specifically for the 11GHz ODU. As all 11GHz 1500P ODUs are shipped from the factory with O5.52g, no need for software upgrade in any case.

12. Products and Features Description

12.1 SFD Single File Download
The purpose of the SFD is to provide a simple and easy software download process. It allows download of single file instead of several SW/FW files. The different SW, FW and configuration scripts that has to be download upon new release are zipped into one file named "SFD_xxx.idn (where xxx=IDC SW version name). Events of each file downloaded are displayed in the alarm log. The ODU/RFU will be uploaded automatically upon download of SFD file and default will be an upload to both ODUs/RFUs. The ODU/RFU upload is followed by ODU reset that we'll cause service disruption of ~20 seconds. This cannot be disabled when using the SFD. For upgrade purposes, this feature can be used with IDCs containing 4.52e10 version or later. Software download process: Download IDC software version SW reset IDC Download SFD file Wait until all files are downloaded and uploaded (IDU and ODU/RFU) HW reset the IDU Verify all correct files are updated in Linkpilot.

12.2 User Channel Support

Asynchronous and synchronous channels are supported in this NSV: one asynchronous per carrier (radio) or one synchronous on Channel#1 (radio right). The following UCs are supported (maimum 64Kbps over the radio): V.11 Asynchronous (up to 9600 baud) RS-232 Asynchronous (up to 9600 baud) V.11 Synchronous Co-Directional (64Kbps) V.11 Synchronous Contra-Directional (64Kbps)

. Available modes of operations are: Two V.11 Asynchronous UCs (one per radio) Two RS-232 Asynchronous UCs (one per radio) One RS-232 Asynchronous UC, and one V.11 Asynchronous UC (one per radio) One V.11 Synchronous Co-Directional or one V.11 Synchronous Contra Directional UC (mapped to CH#1)

The connector dedicated for the UC is shared with the SLIP. The system powers up with SLIP and UC disabled, and the user can choose between the two. Auxiliary channels screen of Linkpilot:

13. Software Upgrade Procedure

13.1 Introduction
The following section details the recommended software upgrade steps for this NSV release. In SAGEMs 1500P IDU, the IDC card (In Door Controller) stores the software, firmware and configuration scripts to the different components in the IDU and ODU. Whenever IDU/ODU initializes, the versions are loaded from the IDC. Once loaded, the IDMs/ODU can work without IDC. SAGEM releases complete software packages. When upgrading a unit, all the SW/FW components must be upgraded to assure proper operation. There are different software release packages for different products lines (High Capacity, Fast Ethernet, GbE).

13.2 Preliminary Steps

1. Record the Existing Software Versions 1.1 Launch Linkpilot. 1.2 Record the current software versions in File System Information Versions or check them using the Configuration Report. 1.3 Contact SAGEM support in order to verify that the software upgrade is possible for your current configuration. 2. Configure Linkpilot - TFTP Parameters TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) is used for software download. Its parameters should be configured using the Linkpilot configuration application. 2.1 Close any open session of Linkpilot. 2.2 Create new folder in drive C named dwld (C:\dwld) and store all download files in it. 2.3 Start Programs Linkpilot Linkpilot Configuration. The Linkpilot Configuration screen will be opened.
