This hands-on workshop has been developed to serve as an introduction to nutrient management and to the test methods that can be applied in monitoring and control programs. Analyses to be discussed will include those for alkalinity, nitrogen species (total, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite) and phosphorus species (total, reactive or orthophosphorus). The course will combine background and theory with practical, hands-on applications of analytical equipment.

This hands-on workshop, has been designed to provide an introduction to laboratory techniques for the analysis of corrosion control parameters in water and wastewater operations. The step-by-step processes for analyzing, such as parameters, pH, temperature, conductivity and hardness will be presented. For each parameter, the theory of measurement will be presented and discussed, as well as the real world implications of the measurements derived. Calibration, verication, and troubleshooting techniques will be discussed and practiced in a relaxed setting where interaction and questions are encouraged.
