UTC NP2000 8-BLADED COMPOSITE PROPELLER for C-130H++

Expands performance and lowers maintenance of C-130E/Hs; greatest gains are achieved when used in conjunction with SAI Airframe Aerodynamic Improvements Typical benefits: 30% reduced takeoff roll 15-20% climb rate improvement at low altitudes and 2-3% at high altitudes 5-8% increase in specific range Reduced external acoustic signature and lower interior noise and vibration Significant reduction of prop and equipment failures and maintenance Improved speed holding and synchro-phasing with Electronic Control

NP2000 High Performance Low Noise Propeller

To achieve maximum benefit, the NP2000 upgrade is recommended to include the HS Electronic Propeller Control System (EPCS), SAI Airframe Improvement package consisting of Enlarged Rudder and Dorsal Fin, Tip Tanks, Horsals and Strakes.
Key Avionics* Reliability (12 mo. actuals; E-2C)

The production C-130H series uses an older 4bladed propeller design, the HS 54H60-117, that is aerodynamically sub-optimum and also unnecessarily noisy, and the interior noise and vibration produced by that prop creates an adverse environment for humans and aircraft systems, especially electronics. In 2006, SAI and Hamilton Sunstrand (now UTC) performed the first ever C-130 flight test of the modern NP2000 8bladed swept blade composite prop. The results showed substantial performance benefits and also confirmed the dramatic reduction of noise and vibration inside the aircraft as well as externally. NP2000 Propeller Features (when used with SAI Enlarged Rudder, Dorsal, & Tip Tanks)
Typical Impact on Critical Field Length

Improved performance over flight envelope Increased thrust by ~29% at brake release Take-off roll at 155,000 lbs reduced 1,100 ft. 15 -20% climb rate increase at low altitude >2.4% increase in service ceiling 5-8% increase in specific range at 10,000 ft. altitude with 12 knot increase in speed 5% increase in specific range at 20,000 ft. altitude with 8 knot increase in speed Landing roll decreased by 10 to 12% Significantly quieter external and internal operation and reduced vibration On-wing individual blade replacement (<1 hr. with no rebalancing) Reduced overall maintenance time Electronic control improves speed holding and synchro-phasing; adds fault diagnostics Increased MTBF of aircraft components
