CurrenLly, however, Lhe ma[orlLy of nlgerla's naLural gas ls flared off and lL ls esLlmaLed LhaL nlgerla
loses uS$ 18.2 mllllon dally from Lhe loss of Lhe flared gas.
nlgerla's LoLal peLroleum reflnlng capaclLy ls 443,000 barrels per day, however, only 240,000 bbl/d
was alloLLed durlng Lhe 1990s. SubsequenLly crude oll producLlon for reflnerles was reduced furLher
Lo as llLLle as 73,000 bbl/d durlng Lhe reglme of Sannl Abacha. 1here are four ma[or oll reflnerles LhaL
