The Maternal Perinatal Hospital "Monica Saenz Pretelini""Has its origin
in the" Jos Vicente Villada Civil Hospital ", created by decree in 1957,
which was administered by a Patronage. Later in the decree number 6,
published in the Government Gazette of December 14, 1963, changed
its name to General Hospital "Mr. Adolfo Lopez Mateos ", being under
the tutelage of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (SSA) and classified
as type A, the hospital officially began work on August 14, 1964.
The name General Hospital "Mr. Adolfo Lopez Mateos "remained in
service for four decades, able, first to 60 beds, while depending on
demand capacity was expanded to 160 hospital beds.
In de1986 the Ministry of Health and Welfare SSA Federal
government, changed its name to Ministry of Health (SS), a situation
that also occurred in the State of Mexico, in which context was
changed, too, the name of the Coordinated Public Health Services in
the State of Mexico, Institute of Health of the State of Mexico (ISEM).
In 1992, General Hospital "Mr. Adolfo Lopez Mateos ", joined the
Solidarity Program" Worth Hospital "to improve its image and expand
their attention span, this time increased from 14 to 20 the number of
clinics and in 1998 was certified as" Baby Friendly Hospital Mother and
Child "by the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF). During this
time the services were given outpatient general and specialty, internal
medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, traumatology and

orthopedics, maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology,

cardiology, dermatology, urology, plastic and reconstructive surgery,
dentistry, neurology and neurosurgery services also preventive
medicine and epidemiology, health care to pregnant adolescents and
ancillary diagnostic and treatment with ultrasound and computed
tomography.
In late 2005 the State Health Institute of Mexico took the decision to
build two new hospitals, one to be a highly specialized Medical Center
and Maternity Hospital, the latter was begun in early 2007. The first
medical center was named "Mr. Adolfo Lopez Mateos "and the latter
Maternity Hospital" Josefa Ortiz de Domnguez ", respectively. Later in
2008 the Hospital "Josefa Ortiz de Domnguez", changed its name
again Perinatal Maternal Hospital of the State of Mexico and begin to
conceive, by the authorities of the State Health Institute of Mexico, a
Hospital Center Third Level of Perinatal Care.
On January 11, 2009 the new facilities were inaugurated granting him
the name of Maternal Perinatal Hospital "Pretelini Monica Saenz"
services that are provided are intended to serve women with high risk
pregnancies and newborns in critical condition, having a design
capacity for 91 beds and 28 neonatal obstetric, in order to meet the
coverage needed to provide quality perinatal care.
